Heres 4 more puzzle pieces posted over at toyotapriusprojects.com

Can see that one of them fits on the right, and the 50% obviously in the middle..

    50% more cargo room?

    21.6 cu.ft x 1.5 = 32.4 cu.ft

It's so that you can put all of your camping/vacation gear in the back, fill up the gas tank, and drive from coast to coast without needing to stop for gas. ??? :)

Doug allready told us it's not a minivan, it's probably a stationwagon with 50% more cargoroom.

Then it needs to be about the same price as the regular prius or they're going to sell right around 10 of them.

I'll wait. If they ever come out with a version with a 3rd row, I'll consider it. If they ever bring the Estima here, I'll consider it too. For now, I'll just keep what I have - including my money.

hmm, kinda like a Venza then....sigh... ok so more cargo room, that's cool, but i think a lot of people were expecting more seats :(.
Should have just made the Venza a hybrid... oh wait, Prius V = Prius Venza! in any case, i'll still check it out, who knows, I might be more impressed to see it in person...

Are we now SURE there are not more seats? Even a 6 seater would be great, a real family vehicle. This is not anything to get excited about if it's a wagon.

Geeze, now a potential buyer has to overcome the stigma against the Prius name PLUS a station wagon (another mostly hated vehicle in North America). I personally would buy a wagon but this is a big disappointment. At least now I don't even need to think about considering to wait for its release.

A 6 or 7 seater Prius makes so much sense to me I almost have to wonder if Toyota deliberately didn't do it because it would cannibalize Sienna sales (and it would).

An upscale Matrix. Bigger, better equipped, and Hybrid mpg. Matrix and Ford Focus Wagons sold really well in my area. Bought by Grandparents who prefer a car to an SUV for getting in and out of. Lots of room for shopping at flea markets and bigbox marts with the grandkids in tow. Venza is to much like the Taurus Wagon which got traded for a Matrix or Focus Wagons.

So, basically just a Prius with larger cargo.

Beat me to it, I bet that door in the floor opens up with rear facing seats...

What a clever way to market and do something nice for you guys! Very cool.

I remember riding in those backward facing seats in my dad's station wagon when I was a kid. Those were fun days

That is still a good thing because being able to store more things in the back compared to the regular one isn't really a negative, more choice isn't a bad thing unless we have as many Prius models as we have Linux distros.

I bet not, that is where the hybrid batteries are located and toyota hasn't ever had rear-facing seats in a wagon (at least not in a long time) and probably would not meet current crash standards

.. in any case i am excited, and who knows, a 3rd row might be an option... my main deal breaker will be the mileage, if it's like a Hybrid Highlander... bah humbug!
