Has anyone installed projector fog lights? Here's what I'm thinking....

    parts.com
    81482-47020 - cover fog lamp L/H - $31.86
    81481-47020 - cover fog lamp R/H - $31.84
    93567-A5014 - screw, qty 2 reqd. - $ 1.10
    Total - $64.82

    ijdmtoy.com

Universal Fit JDM Glass Projector Fog Light Lamp Assemblings, HID Conversion Kit Ready For Fog Lights - $59.99

    ddmtuning.com
    DDM HID Slim Kit Ballast H3 3000k 35W - $35.00

    Total Cost: $159.81

I saw there's a light stalk that we can buy but that costs $92.93. Not sure if I want to spend money on that. Anyone have the part number for the switch instead?

So what do you guys think? I know I could just get the regular housing and install hid kit but I do not want a lot of glare.

Also, DDM Tuning gives you some options with the kit...what exactly is the dual in, dual out harness? And I wouldn't need the error eliminator right?

    Thanks for the input!

On both my '84 Omni and my '94 Taurus, yes. They worked well... so well... I said someday they'll become the standard for headlights. Who knew we'd end up waiting so long for that to finally happen.

I haven't considered installing them on my Prius though. The need hasn't come up like with those vehicles of the ancient past.

That's true with the older cars. I like the how HIDs light up the road. I think they actually keep me more focused on the road too. Sometimes I feel like standard halogen lights make me feel tired especially when I'm driving late at night.

Does anyone happen to know the dimensions for the fog lights? I'm wondering if I'm going to have to modify the housing in order to fit the projectors. Thanks!

Wouldn't a projector light be exactly the opposite of what you want for fog? Fog lights are supposed to be low lights that illuminate the ground immediately in front of the car and to the sides. Projector lights are intended to throw a narrow beam a long distance.

I can see how people think they look cool, but I wouldn't consider a projector light a fog light.

    Tom,

I was actually thinking about that a little after I posted. The projectors would limit the usefulness. Thanks for the reminder lol.

I'd like the looks but the added visibility is much more important.
