    I want to spiff out my Toyota emblems on the front, rear and steering wheel with the Hasepro Red Carbon Fiber sticker.

    Do you think it’ll match my magnetic gray Prius? I know white and black Hondas/Toyotas always look good with red emblems, but gray? I usually like to make sure my mods have a purpose, but this might just be to get the rice out of me. I do not know, whadya think?

    I don't think there should be any problem at all. I think it would go great.

    I mean, it can't be any worse than those riced out civics. I still think "Wth..." every time I see them. Loud exhaust, big rims, scaffolding on the back (spoiler), and what not.....on a civic.

    I still stand by my 300zxTT.

    /end rant

    The lavender might get people to thinking that you have sugar in your britches....but ANY of the other three would look great IMO, including red. Maybe even something like yellow or neon green if they offer it. The neon green/gunmetal gray combination is pretty cool and techy.

    Your opinion is interesting but confusing. You say it'd look good but then you criticize the riced out Civics and say it wouldn't be any worse (I don't even want it to be "as bad"). I think a Prius would receive even more "Wth's". That's kind of what I want to avoid. But I really like the look of red. Hmmm :confused:

    I just got off the phone with a JDM parts store in SF (Auto Freak), who’s helping me order the 3 Hasepro emblem stickers from Japan (steering wheel, front, and rear emblem) but guess what – it’ll cost ~$100 altogether! To give you an idea, if you live in Japan, you can get 3 parts for 4200 yen (~$50). But then why does it cost $100?!?! 1) The reasons he gave me is that the yen is really strong right now, 2) there’s currently a requirement in Japan that they use priority shipping for vendors without accounts (Auto Freak doesn’t have an account with Hasepro), 3) at this time overseas shipping is currently very expensive due to recent terrorist threats. So it looks like foreign politics have dissuaded me from doing this mod. Maybe I’ll try again in 6-12 months.

    Man, this all makes me want it even more now. But I just can’t justify the cost. Does anyone else think $100 is an exorbitant price for 3 stickers?

    I have a Mag Gray Prius. Personally, I don't think the red emblem will look good on Mag Gray. Notwithstanding that gray and red is a somewhat classic combination (e.g., gray suit/red tie and interior designers often combine the two), I've never been a fan. I'd prefer the blue emblem on Mag Gray.

    IIRC, there have been threads on takng the front and rear emblems apart and inserting your own background. Far more than enough outdoor quality 3D vinyl wrap to do your three emblems and a couple more cars can be had for under $10.

    I actually did call More Japan just now and they brought better news. He's still gotta call me back with a more firm quote but this is basically what he said:

    It would take 2-3 months to receive, but shipping cost should be very little. I'm guessing it would come in with their other orders as it seems they have an account with Hasepro. The price point for each should be close to the Vitz emblem ($21). At least that's what I'm hoping. I haven't even mentioned the other store charging $100 afraid they'll get the idea to mark theirs up too.

    If anyone else might want one I could relay your guys' interest to them at More Japan if he ever gets back to me.

    I originally didn't want to use the CF sheets to make my own because I know it'll just look like crap.

    Yes! Good timing GloryThief, they got back to me just now. And I have good news.

    More-japan.com can order the part(s) from Japan. You wouldn't pay ANY international shipping fees, but you will have to wait until they get their usual shipment from Japan. That could take 2-3 months. All you must pay is the domestic shipping, which shouldn't be much since these are flat stickers. Now, the cost varies based on the Japanese yen/US dollar exchange rates. Today he told me this;

    Front emblem ~ $21
    Rear emblem ~ $21
    Steering wheel ~ $18

    The phone number for More-Japan.com is 310-782-0040. Ask for Don. They are located in Torrance, CA. You'll have to place your order on the phone, since this isn't on their website. They're the only store I know that offers to special order at an extremely fair price. Please be sure to mention you heard this from me, Matt, otherwise they might get you confused with me.

    Personally, I have NOT ordered my set yet. I'm giving myself more time to think about it and them a chance to collect orders from Japan...

    Please let me know what you each decide; your decisions will probably influence my decision believe it or not. Also, keep in mind this is not a group buy! I'm merely trying to set you up with the information to make a smooth and easy purchase. I'll probably be calling them back sometime myself.

    Please help/advise! I'll make it easy;

    1. Do you think my emblem would get jacked? Yes or no?
    2. What color would best match my car? Blue, Red, Black, or Silver?

    THANKS!

    Red would be a nice touch I think. And if installed correctly, I don't think it'd be easy to steal. with any adhesive emblem or wrap, you want to make sure the surface is clean and dry before applying, that ensures good contact. Just take your time and you'll be fine. For your color, I'd go either red or silver, but silver is just kinda meh, I've always liked red accents.

    The question is, is the emblem itself easy to steal? Since the accent is just a sticker on the car, if they tried to steal the emblem they wouldn't get the carbon fiber part.

    Honestly, people put $2500 JDM carbon fiber GT wings on their Evos in your neck of the woods. It's not that they worry about the part getting stolen because the time it would take to steal the part, you could steal the entire car. The same goes for expensive rims.
