I just upgraded my 2005 Pkg V to a 2010 Pkg III. The biggest thing I miss so far is the keyless entry on the hatchback and passenger doors. Is this an option I could add? I would think since the SKS system is already in place it might just be a matter of replacing and wiring handles? Maybe I'm just dreaming here but I'd really love to add that feature to my new baby! Any thoughts or comments?
whaaaat you dont have keyless entry? i'm sure you can get it oem or custom. you can replace almost everything as long as you have the loot.
On the pkg III it only has keyless entry on the drivers door . I knew that when I bought it but I didn't realize how much I would miss it on the hatchback and passenger doors!
The thread isn't titled quite right. All 2010 Priuses have "keyless entry". The OP is looking for 3 door smartkey system. Unfortunately, lower model 2010 Priuses only have 1-door SKS. The extra cost of getting 3-door SKS on the 2010 Prius is much higher than adding on a package that gave 3-door SKS on a 2nd gen (vs. having 0-door SKS).
No aftermarket products. I have it on all 4 doors and trunk on the Lexus, and the Prius drives me nuts just missing it on the rear two doors...I think 1 door would drive me crazy...
You're skrood. If you miss the "Smartkey" [sic] feature on the other doors that much, you're going to have to trade out your III. Sorry.
There are a few of us trying to get this working on this thread here... http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-iii...ding-smartkey-door-handle-rear-pass-side.html It's a long thread, but the short version is... so far we haven't had much luck. One of the PC members is hopfully going to test something today that could be promising, but we won't know for sure unless he has the time for his test. Keep an eye on that thread for updates, though. Brett
