No doubt with your shiny new TriField Meter

Don't forget to test a Chevy Cobalt for comparison

Jayman: Get a life doing something constructive for humankind instead of lurking around message boards interfering with others finding real facts. You've not a clue who I am or what I'm doing and you're already posting snarky comments. You're hiding behind a pseudonym, and your opinions could be an excellent example of the disinformation I mentioned in my post.

You ask questions for which answers can be found.

    Welcome to Prius chat.

Some of us have been here awhile. Please keep that in mind when handing out insults, alright?

Jayman isn't hiding behind anything. Several of us know him pretty well. He is the real deal when it comes to EMF, communications, and other such related fields, which might explain why he gets hired by government agencies to work on such things.

We are all for finding real facts. What we have seen so far suggests that they won't be coming from this discussion anytime soon.

I'm going to conduct my own EMF testing in my car. I got a DIY tricorder and am planning to wear my silver foil hat on my head and silverfoil cod piece before testing is conducted.

Always a good idea to use protection. You can't be too careful when working in a dangerous environment.

    Ok, give an example

Here is my example: over a 25 year career - to date that is - I have performed compliance testing for a variety of government acronyms, including NSA and NRO.

I have performed calibration and compliance testing for very powerful advanced military warning radar systems, actually so strong that if anything should have given me a brain tumour or insanity, that system should have

I have performed EMP testing to meet MIL-STD-188-125, which involves an entirely different level of energy and protection required to mitigate it

The entire field of RF testing covers a very wide area, with applications in surveillance, counter-surveillance (Eg, NSA TEMPEST and the compliance testing required for CTPL), electromagnetic compatibility and interoperability, and human safety

Mostly, I get a chuckle when folks claim to have performed `testing`with a gadget that cost under $200, when I have needed several hundred thousand dollars worth of test equipment.

When I get angry is when obvious nutjobs try to claim that electricity in general is killing us, or the `beams`from cell towers are controlling our minds, or especially when a certain nutjob claims that firefighter cancer clusters are NOT caused by exposure to toxic and carcinogenic combustion byproducts, but rather by their use of two way radios

So please, explain what your background is and why you think we should believe you. Don`t be afraid to use Calculus, I`ve always felt that math is our friend

It probably also explains the hair loss.

Yep, the hair loss and insanity are now explained.

I should have been involved in early MRI research, back when they allowed far higher fields than now allowed.

Is it a coincidence, or is that why Tom has more hair on his head than I do on my entire body?

An inquiring mind wants to know. And he also wants to be exposed to a powerful MRI machine to hopefully reverse the tragic male pattern baldness

It's probably not the MRI. I imagine it's from getting married at a very early age, which subsequently depressed my testosterone levels to the point of avoiding male pattern baldness. I do, however, have to worry about menopause.

    :D

So, the cure for male pattern baldness is saying "Yes, Dear" a lot?

Somehow, I don't think so. *chuckle*

Hmmm that now explains the mood swings

I would happily say "Yes, Dear" a lot to you however

Couple of times. Back right seat is supposed to be the liveliest, so I always stash my weed there for that extra little boost. :hippie:

Heh. There's enough "facts" floating around that you can pick any flavor you like. In practice there don't seem to be any cases of people being harmed by their car, at least not by its EM fields. If you like the car, but are honestly concerned about this, you can buy a roll of Mu metal and have a layer installed under the carpet. That'll drop your exposure down to about bicycle levels.

I guess I'm fooked since I once had to sit in a 6 Tesla MRI (60,000 gauss) for an hour.

6 Tesla will make visible flashes in your brain when you turn your head. We once had a firefighter stuck to the outside of a 1.5 T magnet - darned steel air tanks.
