Those guys are probably the same who will get DPF delete kits or programming so it won't make much difference to them anyway :( Very glad that tdiclub is a bit more sane and generally frowns upon doing such modifications.

When was I complaining about stricter regulations? Im all for them.

Im one person, theres a lot of dumb people who shouldnt breed. Unfortuneately they are too stupid to use birth control so we end up with way more dumb rednecks than we can control.

Dodge owners stereotypically are they worst.

    Exactly.

tdiclub is good, but then again if you go to any other diesel site (at least the duramax sites that is) you will find smoke is frowned upon too, except for the few people who theink they are cool and they get shot down fast.

I cant stand smoke, it burns my eyes, my throat and plugs up my nose, plus I feel like crap after breathing it. My pulling truck smokes ( but its not a street vehicle) and everytime we start in in the shop i try to wait till were almost done in there because I cant stand it.

Didn't say you were one of them, I said you were doing a poor job of self-policing and shouldn't be surprised if harsh regulations are shoved down your throat

Always a few bad apples that ruin it for the rest of us

No matter firearms, diesel engines, Prius cars, whatever

No, I meant "you" in the context of the entire diesel community

Consider the childish post made by "diesel smoke" who brags of deleting the emissions in his VW to blow clouds of black smoke. They actually BRAG about clouds of black smoke

I am quite surprised you support all the regulations. Indeed, in many diesel forums especially the Dodge Cummins one, you'd be branded as a traitor

We had some Dodge Ram trolls who would make insulting jabs here, then you could follow them back to their own forum where they would brag about how they would purposely blow clouds of black soot at every Prius they would pass

So, given how a relative handful of redneck Dodge Ram owners and ignorant VW TDI owners behave, you as a diesel community should NOT be surprised that even more restrictive regulations are considered and passed

Thanks to the abundance of cell phones with video capability, it's easy to catch a smoking new diesel "in the act" which only provides the "proof" that legislators need to pass stricter emissions controls and stricter field enforcement

I am surprised and happy that you support tougher emissions controls

You probably don't even need to bother with the above. One day one of the legislators will be driving down the highway and witness ones of these smoking events themselves (maybe even be the victim). They might not be aware it is a mod and just assume it's normal and then tighten down on emissions regulation even further.

Reminds me of when I worked for a large insurance company over here a decade ago. We had a risk put to us for a medium sized company fleet with some colourful claims experience and they were struggling to get cover. They made out it was not their fault, they were unlucky, they have subscribed to driver training courses and things had changed for the better etc. What they didn't realise though was one of their van drivers would overtake me on my way to work pretty much every morning driving like an aggressive prick. He'd cut me up, he'd cut the guy in front of me up, the guy in front of him etc and was straight on the brakes if anyone flashed their lights at him.

Guess what the answer to this proposed risk was! Yep you're right.
