Where do you put your Scanguage in the 2010 Prius? I'm trying to find a good spot that isn't so easily spotted when walking by the car.

    Here's my inelegant "temporary" solution.

When I still had one in my Gen2, I taped it on top of the Rearview. It was difficult to notice when the car was parked. After being disgusted with the ScanGauge, I built my own replacement, also mounted above the rearview. I ran a cable down the A pillar and tapped into the CAN bus at the Power Steering ECU. Not sure if this is in the same easy-to-reach location on the Gen3, but the DLC3 connector is not far off.

Is that a special bean bag to hold the Scanguage? A particular brand name?

    Thanks!

The beanbag is a Bracketron Nav-Mat & is available most everwhere: Amazon, Best Buy, Sears...

A quick search turned up 161 stores with CellHut the cheapest. I don't have any dealings with them so can't offer an opinion.

mine sits there, too. At first I was hunting for a mounting bracked until I had noticed that the cable going through the slot between steering column and dash will hold the SG nicely.

I got a Blendmount for mine. It sits right above my rear view mirror.

Here is a picture of my Scangauge mounted.

The upside is from the front or side you can't see the Scan Gauge from outside of the car unless your are actively looking for it.

Thanks, I didn't even know I wanted one of those installation kits.:D
    I'm going to order one.

Where did you run the cable? Any pictures of how you routed the cable?

It was an easy routing BTW.

At the top the with your fingers pull the front edge of the headliner (felt covered plastic) down just enough to push or squeeze the cable inside. When you get to the left side edge by the drivers door window and the windshield you do the same thing with the top corner (A pillar) of plastic piece holding the front side air bag. Pull it out at the top edge just enough to squeeze the cable in NO MORE. It is maybe an inch and a half total distance or width of the panel that the cable hides behind this piece. From there Toyota made it very easy to route the cable to the bottom.

When you open the door you will see a rubber gasket 3/4 to an inch wide that runs from the top to the bottom of the door frame in the front. The cable will easily slip under this gasket to the floor. From the bottom of the door you will see a kick panel to the left that you can squeeze the cable behind and up under the dash to the OBDII port. A zip tie or two will keep the cable secured up under the dash.

It took me about 15 minutes to install including how to figure out how to route the cable to the port. Should take you less since I told you how to route the cable to the OBDII port. :p It looks like a factory install when your done. The only exposed part of the cable is from the headliner to the unit itself.
