Maybe your father-in-law had the extra fob on his person? Otherwise, these scenarios seem impossible. Better get to the dealer.

    Happy Motoring!

    Tom,

As pointed out by another poster, the OP's last post on this topic was July 18....nearly 3 months ago. So, the OP has either solved his problem and moved on, or, this never was a problem from the get-go and he's jerking you around. In the venacular of the web, it's called "handgrenaiding" (some callin it trolling)...where a poster will lob in some obscene/ridiculous question, or comment, and then sit back for the next few weeks and watch people scramble trying to respond. Very common practice on sports web sites.

    Cheers.

If you have the key fob in your pocket, and you pee on the car from 3 feet away, the doors will unlock. Try it

It did not work - but I tried the back bumper - where were you when you got it to work??? Did you have the standard package, or the V/iV with all door SKS?

Do you think it will work if I pee on the drivers door (I only have the II package)???

Yes, you need to pee on one of the SKS handles.

Did a keg of beer have anything to do with it?

LOL! you guys crack me up. I was washing the car, had the key fob in my pocket when I sprayed the door handle, the car unlocked. I hope no one really went out and pissed on their car.

It's not the guys. Mostly it's the female PC members that do this. Well, not the female's "members", but PC members of the female persuasion.

Hate it when you find out they're a female member.

I live in Las Vegas, and few times this summer we topped 110 degrees. The outside reading one day was 115 with the heat reflecting from the pavement. My car only started when I pushed the start button. So heat has nothing to do with it. By the way the A/C handled the heat just fine.

She must have left it on. She couldn't confirm that she saw the Prius splash screen when the car "started by itself".

I had all sorts of "operator error" issues when I first got my car...I left it on...several times and even after a year when I am in a hurry I still sometimes leave it on...Only the frantic beeping when I go to lock the car reminds me....

Alternate method: cover or fix the parking brake and Park buttons so they can't be used. You'll probably notice that your car is still on a bit sooner - like when you take your foot off the brake and it starts creeping forward.
    :D

Which is probably why I've never really had this problem - I use the power button in lieu of going into Park separately.
