because parking assist is only good for showing off to your friends. in real world use it's not that great. it takes to long to set up. if you push ok on the first green box, it'll park crooked or off center most of the time.

    1. SKS/power button start (this knocked a large quantity of cars 'in my budget' out of the running when I was deciding on which car to replace my Mazda3)
    2. Backup camera (see above)
    3. LED headlights on the V
    4. $25/week mileage reimbursement switching from subsidy to profit when 32mpg switched to 58mpg

I honestly get ticked off at my front door of my apartment for not being SKS. It's on my list of 'things I will have in my house when i buy it'.

    I've got quite a long list ;)

    • SKS
    • Fuel Efficiency
    • Solar Panel
    • The various information displays
    • Backup camera
    • The easy to use "gear shifter"
    • The little LED light to illuminate the "gear shifter" at night
    • Ability to adjust pedal maps on the fly with ECO/NRM/PWR mode
    • Fantastic HVAC system
    • Rear spoiler used to block out headlights
    • Relatively low maintenance
    • The fact that it gives you something to keep track of while driving. I love the videogame feel of driving a Prius
    • Voice commands (decent for adding an address while driving)
    • Saved history data to compare past fuel tanks to improve FE
    • Practicality of the hatchback design
    • The smoothness of acceleration
    • Futuristic look
    • Auto up/down ALL windows.
    • EV mode (used for novelty purposes, but still fun)
    • Windshield nozzles beneath the hood (gives it a cleaner look)
    • No fuel bladder! (coming from the '04 Prius)
    • Interior space (backseat passengers always comment on the space they have)
    • Decent low-end support with stock speakers (again, coming from '04 Prius)
    • Center console arm rest. A lot of cars still don't have one of these
    • Heated seats

    I love my Prius.

I've never understood why parking assist was needed in the first place. Is parking a car a problem? No, it is not. Spend 10 minutes and learn how to parallel park like they used to teach in Driver's Ed. I'd appreciate the feature if it would drop me off at the front door and come get me when I'm done shopping. With my luck it would find another cute Prius and get distracted and forget what time it is.

My favorite feature is the smart key and being able to lock/unlock the car without fumbling for the keys in my pocket.

    Shhhh, I'm gliding (legally).

Well, actually my favorite feature is the fuel economy.

Third is smart key that makes it so easy to get in and go and get out and go.

Noises. I love rolling down the window, turning off the climate control, and driving along with the ICE off and listening to the inverter/motors doing their work. :) Especially good in stop-and-go construction traffic up against a concrete barrier, which reflects the sound!

There's a linear motor driven transit system in Toronto called the Scarborough rt, and a lot of the noises the Prius makes reminds me of the drive system on the rt.

I love that the floor of the vehicle is perfectly flat when you open the hatchback (and you don't have to lift things UP to get them out). It's SO perfect for carrying heavy things--stuff just slides right in and out.

I also love that I can't possibly lock my keys in the car!

Here's an odd question but thought I'd throw it out there being you mentioned surf boards....how many feet would it hold from rear to front, 7, 8ft? Is it long enough for an 8ft Xmas tree, (tied up)?

    Hmm...

I don't know exactly what it means, but it's interesting to me that it took 9 posts before anyone mentioned Gas Mileage as a feature they most enjoyed.

Does it just get taken for granted? Because my observation is that Gas Mileage and Emissions are two benefits inwhich The Prius is primarily designed. Everything else is "candy".

I just find the gap in response interesting.

Because it seems if you ask people "Why" they like Prius or bought a Prius, you will get an overwhelming response of Gas Mileage...less dependence on petrol resources, kinder to the enviroment.

But oddly it seems if you ask people what they Like Best about Prius...it becomes Push Button starts and other amenities.

I know the reasons people purchase a Prius are diverse...but really shouldn't what you like BEST about Prius be the gas mileage and lower emmisions? That's the primary difference between Prius and most other vehicles on the road.

Putting push button starts and other amenities higher than the benefits offered by utilizing hybrid technology and HSD seems to me like buying a pocket knife for the shiny case...and ignoring the blade.

Higher Gas Mileage and Lower Emissions are what Prius was designed for...

I don't know what this means if anything about Prius owners and purchasers but I find the responses interesting.

    Don't have a point.
Just somewhat suprised at these responses.

Your pocketknife has a nose hair trimmer? Weird.

Just about everything mentioned above such as smart key, mpg, well built, leather and heated seats, back up camera, navigation, flat folding seats, stylish look, shiny color, bluetooth, bright lights, bigger wheels, less noise, less emission, and so on. And of course, most importantly, it lets me drive solo on HOV lane free which saves lots of time, money and frustration for me everyday and I feel so happy to pass those aggressive truck drivers and wonder if everyone wants to buy a hybrid car while they are stuck in traffic and watching priuses passing by freely on carpool lane! :)

I agree with G3priusV, the clean pass sticker, allowing me to drive solo in the HOV lane is the best part of this car. Sure there are many great things about it but only a few cars qualify in NY for the CP stickers and the feeling of driving without traffic is like going to the front of the line at Disney

I carry 10 foot pipe and lumber inside of my Gen II Prius. To do this, wrap the end of the load in something soft, and set it up on top of the dash.
