Hello All, I hope this post will be seen (the thread is a little old).... I am NOT a new Prius owner. I had a 2004, Pkg 7 for 6 years and have just purchased a "new to me" 2009 Touring. Now there have been a few differences between the two model years, of course. The one that's giving me the most fits right now is the Average MPG display on the Consumption screen display. In my 2004, the average MPGs always reset itself whenever I fueled up with 3 or more gallons of gasoline. In my 2009, the average MPG reading seems to be for the lifelong 36K miles. I've fueled up at least 5 times and the MPG ready is raising VERY SLOWLY (1.9 mpg over 4 weeks). My question is this, (and I'm not the most technically savvy person, but I've been able to set the homelink buttons and turn OFF the reverse beep) is there a way for me to reset the average MPG display? I don't necessarily need to reset with each fill-up, but I'm tired of the previous owners bad habits being rubbed in my face (39.6 MPG when I took custody). Also if there are any other major differences between the 2004 and the 2009 Touring, I'd love a heads up on the information. Thank you in advance for any assistance, ~~Cathi p.s. I miss my Michelin HydoEdge tires too (they aren't available in the size needed for the 2009 Touring)! Does anyone have a suggestion for a tire that handles similarly in the size I need? CPetrus- You could try the Michelin Energy Saver tire. It is LRR and is rated better than the Hydro Edge. Maybe the same problem with sizes thou. What size tire do you have on your 09. You may have to go with a narrower tire, which is good for FE. H
I've tried this and the MPGs do NOT zero out....I even tried resetting the Trip B odometer, the mileage reading reset but the mpgs stayed the same. Could this be a problem with computer system or am I missing a simple (but critical) step? Again, thanks for any and all insight! =o)
The OEM size is 195/55/16. Do you know if the Energy have as good a hold of the road in the rain as the HydroEdge? The Bridgestone Potenza G019 Grid tires that are currently on the vehicle hydroplane quite a bit in the rain..... =/
WOAH!!! I just checked out those Michelin Energy Savers and at $200/tire, I guess that I'll be saving up for those for a while! I'll have to learn to live with the Bridgestones quite a bit longer.....
