I went 5.5 years and 118,185 miles with my 2004 before trading it in for a 2010. No trouble at all. It's documented in detail on my website if you're interested. .
I am thrilled with my 2010 Prius. I paid a premium price in October. I believe the Toyota problem will affect resale value. I think the present is an excellent to bargain a good price. In the meantime I am getting 47 to 50 mpg.
Wanted to bump this one back up as new incentives should be out soon. Had 2 dealers tell me to expect something in my inboxes from them tomorrow. I'll be interested if anyone else has heard/seen anything.
Thanks Crazy Canuck...and congrats on some great competition yesterday. We're hockey fans and that was one heck of a game! As for our incentives, I just hope they are nationwide, our region keeps getting the shaft. The supply out here has seriously outweighed the demand so we're keeping fingers crossed.
The link stated March 2nd, that is tommorow. However, doesn't say anything about the Prius, but you never know..
God I hope they don't offer some really good incentives for the Prius.. all this talk of waiting.. and how it's not real smart to get it now.. and such may just go out the window
Well, I took the plunge today! I ordered the lV with no packages. Winter Gray with the Misty Gray leather. Pretty car! Leased for 3 years, 36,000 miles, $1,000 total out of pocket, $350.00 payment. The exact same payment I've been making on my CRV, but I'll be saving at the pump fo sho! I had some negative equity in my CRV, and I think this is a pretty good deal.
Grats River! I think what I might do is RENT one just for like a day or two, and have fun with it.. hopefully that will help me "scratch my itch"
Jump on a Toyota or Honda when they have their incentives. Honda had one in Feb, I think Toyota is having one in March. Join AAA, and watch their internet discount prices in your area. They have the best deals I've seen. You want a dealer who has internet sales. They have the lowest prices.
The internet sales guy couldn't beat the deal I got from another dealership. Of course, it didn't hurt that they knew I had that guy to go to.
I think you will be pleased with your decision. The down side will be limiting it to 36,000 miles in 3 years. Enjoy your new car.
My only problem with a lease is.. you will ALWAYS have a note.. after the lease you will typically do another lease.. so you will probably have a $300 to $400 note every month..
Got the itch.. AGAIN... especially that the plug in is now on the horizon.... I called all the local rental car companies.. they got my name down to rent one.. gotta scratch it!!!
