I'm going to pick up a 2010 Prius III tomorrow and wanted to see what you guys thought of the price.

    MSRP: $24,909
    Price: $23,500
    Payment $276/month
Out of Pocket: $445.75 (Tax & License)

It's a lease with all their current incentives. What do you think? Does the price sound good?

Did you go through USAA? Their buying service has some awesome deals on the Prius, I used them and got my III w/Nav for $3000 under Invoice. Sounds like you got a great deal too, USAA pricing here in Atlanta for that same model w/Mats is $20,393!

Package V w/ATP; 3 year lease, 12K miles/yr: $503/mo, 0 down, $503 (first month) due at signing. I haven't seen the actual numbers of the deal yet, but the dealer will cut me $1900 check to offset my last BMW lease payments ($872.73 x 3). I haven't done it yet (dealer looking for a silver w/dark interior); thoughts?

Seems steep to me, but there has been a lot of talk on here about $199 lease payments. Of course that's on a II not a V! I guess I've just gotten used to not having any car payment, so $508 a month really sounds like a lot of money to me!

Well, I'll be curious to see what the final numbers are. The BL is that I still have $2618.19 in BMW payments to make. The local dealer wants to make a deal, it seems. My package V w/ATP MSRP's on the website for just over $34k. So, I don't know how good or bad $503/mo is on a 36 month lease w/12K miles/yr. That $503 includes tax, btw.

I don't know what the residuals are, etc...or anything else. I'm still a little curious how they're going to cut me a $1900 check to help offset making two car payments for the next three months.

What's the actual selling price? Before you go back to negotiate go to Truecar.com and run the numbers, they will give you up to three dealerships with the lowest price. These prices are supposed to be guaranteed or they could lose their affiliation with Truecar.com. If your dealer is not listed, you can always use the lowest price as a target price during your negotiations, or contact the lowest priced dealer and see if they have what you want in stock. Currently, here in Atlanta, the lowest price on Truecar for a V w/ATP is $28,588. This is for a V w/ATP and no other options selected, MSRP on this one is $34,035, so it may be equipped the same as the one your looking at.

Paul, I took your advice a couple of weeks ago and saved me a couple of thousand easy. Of course I'm spending that savings on goodies for the new prius!

It's an addiction, I can't help it! But, it's always better to save a couple thousand even if you turn around and pour some of it back into the car.

My wife thinks I'm nuts because I added the Auto Dim Mirror w/HomeLink and I'm talking about a set of Clazzio Leather Seat Covers. She asked why I didn't just get the IV to begin with... I tried to explain the cost of a IV was several thousand more than the III, and for a few hundred I can add the options I want and don't have to pay for those I don't (like water repellent side windows)!

We just bought a 2010 IV with the Nav package. We talked them down $2000 and got 0% financing! The best thing was that we got exactly what we wanted, red with dark gray interior, no window tint. They had four of them within 300 miles of Houston!

No I Live in Fort Worth and just did a search of the Houston dealers websites online. Fred Haas Toyota had the car on the website for $20888 and I got a $500 military rebate It probably would of been easier to us USAA but I forgot about it.

Well, after a couple of months of research, etc., I signed the deal on my Prius lease yesterday. I should get it next week after the dealer installs all the accessories I wanted. Details: 2010 Level V w/ATP (silver w/dark gray interior). I added lower rocker panel, illuminated door sills, both carpet and all-wx mats, door edge guard, protective film, alloy wheel locks, auto dimming mirror (which I think came with the ATP), and rear bumper applique.

The car's MSRP was $35,747 and I tried to negotiate a $32,800 price for my lease. I derived that price from TrueCar, KBB, Edmonds, etc. I was told that due to incentives Toyota was offering they don't negotiate the price of the car on a lease. Basically, either you do the lease or you don't. The Level V w/ATP on a 36 month lease, 12K miles/yr, worked out to be $503/mo w/money factor and taxes. With my added accessories the pmt is $551/mo. Like everyone else, I got the free mx for 2 yrs/25K miles.

There was a rebate included in the $1900 cash-back. All that was due at signing was my first pmt of $551. I just had them deduct that from the $1900 so I'll get a check the dealership for $1349 once Toyota Motor Company pays them for the lease. So I got the exact Prius I wanted for $551/mo with $1900 cash-back. You guys are so savvy here that it makes me head hurt sifting through much of the info...so I don't know if this is a good deal for a loaded Prius lease or not.

At this point it's done and I don't care...I still have my BMW to make me smile. Thanks for all the help in educating me over the past two months. I'm sure I'll be using the forum even more once I take delivery and have questions that aren't answered in the Ops Manual. Ciao.

What was the reasoning for leasing a V-ATP? Seems like there would be more value to be gotten from keeping it longer than 3 years. What is the residual listed on the contract?

Purchased a Prius III base model with just the carpets (CF option).
    MSRP of $24,760 incl destination
Vehicle Price: $21,535 (after $750 rebate)
Tax, registration and licensing fees: $2,565 (9.5% sales tax city in CA)
Out the door, all-in price: $24,100 (after $750 rebate)

Used email/fax attack approach so final price was completely determined before going to dealer (would highly recommend this approach).

Excited to be driving the car!
