Hi all. I'm about 1 week into ownership of my 2005. Finally retired the Land Rover to a camping/offroad only vehicle instead of a 15mpg daily driver. I've put about 200 miles on the Prius this week and i'm very pleased with the 50.3 mpg average the MFD is showing so far into my first tank! :D

Two quick questions. The 2005s have part of the dash painted and i have a few annoying scratches on the glove box doors. Any fix for this? Anyone repainted with a more durable paint?

Also, i have the 'very' light tan interior (cloth seats). I'm thinking of recovering the seats with Clazzio covers, but in black leather. Anyone have pics of the tan interior with black seats?

Thanks! Im sure more questions will come up as i learn about the car.

I don't know about the paint, but for the seats I'd just go with a real nice set of sheep-skin seat covers. These can look really good in silver/grey and will be much cooler and more comfortable in summer than black leather. Remember that the lighter colors will be cooler and more efficient in summer,

Wow.. crazy.. I TOO am a new owner. I also just bought a 2005 Prius. I also am switching from a 1995 Land Rover. And I also have annoying scratches on my dash!! I even have tan cloth interior!

Welcome and congrats on the 2005 purchase!

Personally I like the 2004-2005 models best because of the painted dash and the lack of hybrid badges on the fender. I really dislike the textured dash of the 2006+. It looks like a hunk of raw ABS plastic to me. :)

A tip for cleaning the Ivory interior...

AND, with a bit of looking on the Internet, I have discovered that jefe and bguetter are actually identical twins separated at birth. But that's another story.

Sub3marathonman- Haha, could be, ya never know!

F8L- I was acutually thinking of trying to find the textured dash pieces from an 06 or newer to swap mine out!
