Hi everyone...I just passed my 1st anniversary of ownership and have racked up just a hair under 25k miles. Actually, it was @ 24998. How many miles have you guys and gals racked up so far on your first year?
Mine was a year old on August 7th, and I had 23,349 miles on that day. Saturdays are the wife's and mine 'fun days'. Normally we just hit the road and don't have a clue where we are going till we decide North or South, East or West. Since we live in Wisconsin, going East means either going down through Chicago, or going 'over the top' of Lake Michigan by way of the Mackinaw Straights. (Mackinaw Bridge). We have ended up in Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, Michigan, and Illinois during these one, (that is ONE) day trips. We have at times stuck on a thousand miles in one day although we haven't done anywhere near that in our Prius yet. On average we stick on about 450 miles, and prefer the out-of-the-way places over major cities. (Such as Napanee, Goshen, and Shipshewanna in Indiana, Vernon County in Wisconsin, Holland in Michigan, Stillwater in Minnesota, Woodstock in Illinois (Where they filmed 'Ground Hog Day'), and Anamosa in Iowa)
We are 10k even 5.5 months in. Leased it at 18k/year and will decide thereafter whether to keep or ditch it. We like it enough we'll probably keep it but who knows, that's a couple years off.
Thirteen months today with 9700 miles. Mine is stored in the winter to avoid the harsh elements and road salt. This may be my last new car and I want to keep it as pristine as possible.
Took delivery in October of 2009. Just had the oil changed this week at 9,650 miles. I'm in Florida and use my motorcycles a lot so usually my cars have fewer miles than average.
For us, 19,000 miles for the first year starting in early July 2009. We used 390 gallons of gas, getting 48.7 mpg. With the summer weather, overall mpg has now reached 49.0.
I too had abaout 20,000 miles at one year. We took a 5000 mile trip and leave soon on a 6000 miler. It's wonderful to not feel that we cannot afford to drive. The car I traded (01 Toy Highlander) only got 20 mpg, and it restricted our travel.
About 28K the first year, I expect it will end up being about 20K to 25K per year. Overall this car has done everything I ask of it, very stable on the highway even in the wind. More comfortable than my Gen2 Prius and the mileage has been Prius like. My only disappointment has been the interior plastic rattles, I have fixed some, learned to ignore some, and I have some that are as yet unfound.
My 2010 Prius was purchased on 08/05/10 (13 months old). It now has 36,111 miles I has had zero repairs. I will be at 100,000 miles in less than 18 months. I predict zero repairs. I feel bad for all those that wasted $1,000+ on an extended warranty.
After 1 year I had 9400 miles but drive Zenn as primary commuter and put an additional 4000 miles on it
@22000 miles after 14 months. Had oil change at 5K and oil and tire rotation at 15K. Going to have next maintenance at 25K.
You bought the car in May 2010 and already you're upto 36k miles? What do you do to drive all those miles? I thought I was heavy on the miles, but I'm just an amateur compared to you.
