Hi Guys. Have had the Prius since Jan 2008. Love it. Wife has developed arthritis in shoulders & can no longer reach up to rear tailgate when open. Has anyone any ideas on rigging up a height restrictor? At present, use strap from rear luggage securing ring to the U-catch of the lock, but have to remove each time when closing. Any better solution?
You have one like this NHW11 model: This is the "Gen I" or NHW11 model. The trunk hinges lower and one should be able to go to the side and close it easily enough. Or is it like the NHW20: This is the "Gen III" or model ZVW30 that is similar to the "Gen II" or model NHW20 and they hinge at the top of the car . . . much higher and more difficult to reach.
