This same location is also the first public installation of a fast charger. It just gets better and better.
    DC fast charger

And to tie this into the subject of the thread... this location is 1/4 mile from a Costco that has six chargers. ;) I often park at the solar lot and walk to costco so I'm not using grid power to charge.

The important point is many other cash back cards (including AMEX Blue Cash) that normally offer 3% or 5% cash back on gas purchases will not honor the higher percentage when filling up at Costco (because it's a warehouse club) and instead revert back to 1%. The Costco AMEX will give you 3% even at Costco.

I've used Costco and Arco Gasoline on both of my 2010 Prius vehicles and have never had any problems and/or decreased MPG's.

you wouldn't know if your MPGs decreased if you don't compare it to other gasoline and see what your MPG is using those gasolines.

I have been using Coscto gasoline off and on since we bought our prius in May, 2009.

We now have nearly 32,000 miles and I can't tell the difference in gasoline. In Oregon, where Ethanol 10% is King ALL YEAR LONG, all
gas in this state is the same.

I have found a distinct difference when I use regular gas with NO Ethanol. Then I can get a noticable increase of 3-5 MPG.

That is the only difference that anyone would notice.

In S. Cal (Oceanside) my Boxster S did not like Costco premium one little bit. Car ran poorly with detonation. Switched back to Chevron and the issues went away. Never have had a problem with regular from Costco, but the Boxster did not like Costco premium.
That premium gas was one of the only issues I have ever had with Costco, I've been a member for about thirty years.
They recently replaced all 4 tires on my 4Runner due to a recurring leak they could not fix after 5 visits. Since the tires I had were no longer manufactured Costco picked up the tab, except for the prorated wear on the one tire. I got out the door with 800 dollars worth of tires, for 80 bucks.
I'm a big fan of Costco, and they pay their employees a living wage.

I get all my Gas from costco as well Simply because i do not Feel that there is any difference And i've never had any Performance issues in any of my priuses.

Costco has Very limited selection, a bit spendy but. A warranty policy that is second to none and a level of customer service unmatched by any other retailer i have experience with.

My nephew works for costco And he does have the potential To make a great wage. He is currently temporary part time but still started at 3 dollars an hour higher then any other retailer in the business

B sides with my costco Credit card i get 3 percent cashback

    This is a bad thing?

In the 6 years I have been on this board, costco gas has come up about 3 *.

Threads on the quality or differences in brands of gasoline have been discussed probably 2 dozen times.

If you take all the information from each thread i think you'll find about 80 percent of the information is repeated.

Not suggesting a fix here and this most definitely not posted toward question of the usefulness or validity o
    F your post or mine

Three weeks is child's play. Some of these thread resurrections occur after three years.

Nothing wrong with Costco gasoline and I prefer their gas to the brand name stations. Usually $0.15 cheaper than anyone else and no problems to date.

What are the bona fides of this website? Who commissioned the rankings? What tests were performed? Who reviewed the results?

I think I am going to write a definitive study of certain brands of gasoline and post it in Wikipedia. That should make it official.

There was a four page thread discussing "top tier" gasolines a month or more ago:
    http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-iii-2010-prius-fuel-economy/83112-top-tier-gas-vs.html

Ya know what's gonna be great when we finally manage to switch to electric drive? Every one of us - without exception - will be driving around on top-tier fuel. And nobody will be dripping it on their shoes. There will be no additives or detergents to worry about. No more sludge in the oil pan, or sooty valves. yay.

Yeah, but then we'll be arguing about how "pure" our electricity is... whether it's from solar panels, hydroelectric, coal, or nuclear.

    *sigh*

    It won't end, really...

Ya know, I never thought about THAT aspect. I guess it won't end. It'll just morph into something else. But THAT sort of competition is way better than the other option, me thinks. It will be which company offers the GREENEST fuel... not which one has the best additives or advertising, or whatever. The product itself will not be distinguishable between venders. How often does that happen? Ever? With ANY other product? Can't think of any other product that is so perfectly homogenized that nobody can really brand it.

Some electrons are better than others. You want to make sure to get top tier electrons, and fresh ones at that. Stale electrons from long transmissions lines will lead to carbon buildup on the inside of your electric motors, and may cause stalling in extreme cases. Likewise hydroelectric electrons are often bruised and rounded from the trip through the turbines. Coal produced electrons are generally considered the best, especially if produced in a local plant.

    :p

Omg.... i can see it now; "Our electrons fortified with 100% organic neutrinos!" This will be marketed to non techies who will know that neutrinos carry no charge...
