Based on the wheel style, I think that is an NHW20, right?

I can't make out what brand of tire. Any ideas?

Why was the "tire light" on? I think the Prius' TPMS only alarms on under pressure not over pressure.

We now know under 90 psi won't explode. ;) just need to confirm which tire she had.

It was a GII bob. Cool way to ruin a car.

OK OK, I'm going to say it!

    I TOLD YOU SO!!! ;)

Too much pressure WILL explode tires. Though I was sure it would happen when you hit an "imperfection" in the road, not in a shop, stopped.

[IMG][IMG] How the hell do you get 93PSI into a tire?????

"Lady says tire light is on"
It would have been nice if the countdown to detonation display was activated:D

You don't suppose she just filled the tires until the 'hissing' stopped?
Yeap, that'll sure fill'em up. That would explain the equal pressure in the other tires.

Yup. When you hit an imperfection in the road the force adds to the tire pressure force, PLUS you get a force direction change in a very short time.

But I guess when you put almost 100 PSI in a tire the road force doesn't add a lot more. ;)

A number of years ago a supervisor of mine at work said it:
"Well, you've just made sure the idiots can't damage what you made (idiot proof). Now you just have to worry about the bloody idiots!"

In the real world "Idiot Resistant" is the best you can accomplish.

As soon as you create something idiot proof, nature will create a better idiot.

the tires were probably OEM. I'd figure yokohamas.

as for 95 psi...Wth. lol, this is exactly why i dont overfill my tires. i follow the directions printed on the door.
