2010 Prius OEM-quality Fog Light Kit Now Available!

Is it possible to order extra switches? I like the look of the switch. It would be great to get two extra. One to turn off the auto head lights and another to turn on an air horn.

I bought another Yaris kit from e-bay so I have an extra switch and wiring harness. I will probably put that up for sale soon. If you are interested, let me know.

 

Is anyone saving their blanks once they install the fogs? I can't imagine they're worth anything...

1. I was also wondering if there's a way to keep them on at all times (and thus function as DRL). There was a method suggested in this post (brown wire & ECU)...can someone verify this?

2. I'm aware of the likelihood of having 6 lights (after high beam usage) but I'm from Canada and the regulations might be different.

Actually the brown wire is only active when the parking/headlights are on. You would have to find a wire that is active when the car is powered up (so the light are on while the car is powered up). Shouldn't be hard to find a source since the fuse box is close by.

 

ready to do this ... i have few questions:

a) only 2 of the black wood screws get ued (1 each side assembly) - the rest 6 are not needed?

b) the little machine screw w/ washer that came - where does that get used?

another question : do the fog light "on" indicator on the main display light up? or just that little green light on the switch??

I had no trouble pulling the harness once I punctured it (used soap solution) got it in one try but puncturing the damn rubber boot took me more than an hour only because i didnt have anything thin, long and sharp i also probably spent good 30 minutes rummaging thru the kitchen to find somehting suitable since wifey was absent ...


some notes: I didnt find a neat place to hang the fuse coming off the relay so i tied it to another harness .. i also used atleast 12-15 more cable ties than the 6 included which looked mucho cheap and definitely not UV / ext weather rated (then again I am just anal) ...

also cannot believe how plasticky this car is and yet i did not manage to break any of those tabs (touch wood) ...

my only complaint is that the glass is not totally tight against the bezel and bezel is not totally tight with the bumper - otherwise I am pretty pleased ... keep in mind i did it for aesthetics instead of functionality ...

this was my first major mod to the Prius ... once again, thanks P42 and everyone else ...

 

I installed my Fog Light Kit yesterday. I posted it in another thread on Fog Light installations here http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-iii...43-2010-prius-fog-light-install-retrofit.html, with pictures.

The kit is really good with easy to use instructions. The fog lights look factory installed and the car looks "finished" now that the rubber blanks are gone !!

I was in a rush and scrolled rather quickly re: use of fogs as DRLs. Have you installed them and will they function as DRLs?

Hi Tideland. Do you mean the relay and the ground strap? The fuse was an inline plastic housing which I just cable-tied to the harness. I remember attaching the relay was a little awkward but putting it under the same bolt holding the fuse box worked well. The bolts were tight but threaded smoothly.

 

Does anyone know if the foglights are still available? Placed an order about three weeks ago and haven't gotten them yet so was just wondering.

I ordered mine two weeks ago and they arrived yesterday...had them installed today at Car Toys...look and work great.

I attached both the relay and the ground to one of the engine bolts...those twobwere very difficult to get to and one bolt was much more awkwardly positioned than the other so I just made sure the ground went between the relay and the frame
