Changed batteries on the remote control now it doesn't start car w/o being inserted into key slot or unlock it automatically. How can i fix this?

    Second issue:

Driver side headlight dims then turns off after a while is this headlight issue or HID ?

The battery could be installed upside down, or the new one could be just as dead as the old one. As installed, the positive side with all the printing on it should be up.

As for the dim headlight, yup, that's what a dead HID light does. Use the Search facility to find lots of threads discussing this. A good price to fix a bad HID is $50 for the part off eBay, and an hour of your time installing it. A bad price is $300 per bulb, plus the mechanic's charge for several hours of dealer time. Check out the data here before even approaching a dealer.

Make sure the SKS button under the steering column is in the out position. It's very easy to turn off the system by bumping it with your knee.

As RobH stated about the HID, that's true. Your ballast is most likely the culprit. Replacing the factory unit is a pain since it's mounted to the headlight...

You can get away with any D2R bulb, sticking to name brand bulbs would probably last you longest...

    Make that a D2R for 2004/2005, and a D4R for 2006-2009.

What he said. The bulbs are different. The slots on the D2R bulb are in different places than the D4R bulb. D4R is also mercury free & wont work with a D2 ballast.

Ballast is most likely NOT the problem, the bulb is. RobH said to change the bulb not the ballast. I have a 2007 Package 6 w/HID's. A friend has the same. I changed mine 5 months ago, we changed his a week ago.... bulbs fixed it, not ballast.:)
