I have a 2007 Prius and looking to upgrade my GPS softare. What's the place to get the best deal on the software or can you only get it at Toyota? They want like $199 for it. I also want to know what the latest version of the software is and when they are coming out with the 2010 version of the software if they haven't come out with it yet. Can someone explain the version numbers to me like v6.1, etc. Thank you for your help and time.
It's a deal at $199, list is $250. Version 9.1 is the current version. The dealer is the pretty much the only place to purchase it. Try the search function there are several theads on he subject that point out specifics
How old is v9.1? When is the next version coming out? Is v9.1 the 2009 or 2010 version? I found what I think is a Toyota Dealer on Ebay that's selling it for $178.30 plus sales tax and free shipping. He lists it as the 2009 version and part number 86271-GEN0X-09. Do you know anything about that? Thanks.
I own a G3, IV. I assume my NAV software is 9.1. I have no confidence that the next generation software would be any better than what I own. Specifically, great sections of my city are blank ... no streets shown. Some of the streets have existed for 50-75 years, and some even longer. I do understand that new subdivisions may not be shown, but some of the older subdivisions defy my understanding. Personally, I like the NAV system ... but the software ..... well it leaves a lot to be desired. Too bad there is no competition that would make competetors produce a better product.
Well, I did a search on Google, but I couldn't find it much cheaper. I found maybe it for $149 used on Ebay, but that's about it. I did a search for the software, but it doesn't even list that it's compatible with the Prius. I don't understand why. Here is an example: Miscellaneous Part # 464210-1380 Version 9.1 for Gen 5 Navigation found in the below cars: Lexus vehicles: ES350: 2007, 2008, 2009 RX350/400h: 2007, 2008, 2009 IS250/350/F: 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 GS350/430/460/450h: 2007, 2008, 2009 GX470: 2007, 2008, 2009 LS460/600h: 2007, 2008, 2009 LX570: 2008, 2009 Toyota vehicles: Sienna: 2006, 2007, 2008 4Runner: 2006, 2007, 2008 Camry: 2007, 2008, 2009 Solara: 2007, 2008 Sequoia: 2007 Tundra: 2007, 2008
Actually I did Google it, and best I could find was a eBay sale for 229.00. You could buy lots of v8.1 and 7.1 for small change, but 9.1 commands 200+! If you want to infringe copyrights there were some sites you could burn a disk from ISO files, but the list of auto's that it worked in did not include Prius. After going to the first 30 links, I gave up. $199 seems to actualy be a good price! That's what I paid. What city do you live in???? You have piqued my curiousity
I live in Logan, UT. The city is greater than 100 years old, and many streets that are not shown, have old pioneer homes along both sides of the street. Then there are secondary highways that may appear on the GPS, then are shown to turn or discontinue ... whereas in reality, the streets continue on .... and have done so for many, many years. I am absolutely certain it is a software issue ... but I also have no confidence that a costly upgrade would correct the problem ..... it certainly has not corrected the situation in previous versions, even though the roads have been there since prior to GPS systems. Therefore, I wouold not even consider buying an upgrade. Toyota really should consider a better software designer. So many people blame Toyota, when in reality, it is a software supplier.
Does anybody know where the instructions are on how to replace the new GPS DVD? I have looked and I can't find them any place. Thank you... Nevermind. I figured it out. Thanks..
