Diesel Engines

There is a biodiesel station, or really recycling store that sells biodiesel close to me. It trades recycled paper products with restaurants for their used cooking oil. It seems like a good way to start. They clearly do state that their biodiesel does increase some tailpipe emissions.

Are there any good algae pilots going on? Lots of enpty space in west texas that gets plenty of sunlight.

 

Unsure if there are any algae biofuel pilot projects, not my area of consulting

 

We had a pretty good pilot project going on in our shower, or doesn't mildew work as well as algae?

Does the amount of botulism and and other toxins have any impact on
fish species caught for human consumption, or for that matter water
taken from the Lakes for human use?

 

No, not really. Our native fish can't eat the mussels. There are only a couple of invasive fish species that like to eat them, and these invasive species are not attractive to our native fish, so generally the toxin gets isolated and does not enter the human food cycle.

Drinking water gets pulled in at depths too deep for algae growth.

As far as human impact is concerned, the biggest issue is some stinky sludge on our otherwise pristine beaches. It tends to be isolated and wind dependent, but is still unpleasant if it ends up on the beach where you intend to swim.

That looks very pleasant. So the water's not normally a solid?

 

We have a few weeks in the summer when it reaches a mostly liquid state.
