No not the technical kind, but the real one.

Any ideas on things that can keep the front of the prius from looking like a slaughter fest of the little varmits?

I know it seems like a simple question, but it seems that the flat front of the Prius collects bugs a lot faster and with the reading on "blocking" and other things, plus the feel that a "bra" might look a bit goofy on a Prius, I figured it might be a good question.

    Thanks.

There is the 3M clear bra you can get, not sure how much that would help. I have the bug problem too. All I can say is get a bug sponge with some water and try to wipe it down as often as possible. When you let it go for awhile then it becomes a pain in the nice person. Good luck.

Worse yet are the paint chips created by flying pebbles/rocks in the same surface area.

I use a product called Rejex. Apply it per directions and the bugs just wipe off if you don't wait too long. And if you do, they still wash off quite easily. Get at RejeX: Nothing Sticks but the Shine!

You might want to take a look at the Surface Protection Film from Griot's Garage. I been tempted to try a roll, especially during the summer (buggy) months. The above link is for the 18" wide roll. They also have a 6" wide roll.

Best wishes "debugging" your car. :)

I just finished a 2500 mile trip and have bugs all over, again. I do have Clear Shield, same thing as Clear Bra by a different manufacturer, and it makes them a little easier to get off. Fortunately I put on a good coat of wax, I wax the Clear Shield too, before I left which helps. If you have any really stubborn ones you can get them off with WD-40, works on road tar also.

RejeX is great stuff. You can apply it to the front bumper, windshield and side mirrors--to minimize bug splats, and make cleaning much easier. It's also great to minimize brake dust build up on wheels...not that it's an issue on my Prius. :D

I've noticed on some other unnamed forums...that younger owners of Honds Fits will go to the trouble of fashioning "temporary" front end bra's when they know they are going on longer trips through areas that are likely to be bug infested.

Everything from self sticking saran wrap...to painters tape is recommended and used.

Personally? Well I have a front end clear bra...and I'd rather deal with the difficulty of removing the bugs as hard as it might be then tape my car up in the front like a bandaged Frankenstein....

But I present it as an option as I know some people go to the trouble. An added benefit of course is the temporary bra would also protect against rock chips...

This does remind me...I also have heard good things about RejeX...I need to get some....

Yes. Also good to apply to side view mirrors.

And also one of the few products that will last on wheels. It was developed specifically for high temp military applications, so it won't melt off from the high temps wheels reach.

Is RejeX only sold online? Do any stores sell it?

I've never seen it in B&M stores--it's only available online as far as I know.
