On this forum, if you hover your mouse pointer over any of the page numbers on the bottom of the page -- the ones that let you select which page to go to next -- the pop-up that results tells you the number of the final post. Since there are ten posts per page, that tells you how many pages you are from the end. (Someday soon this post will not be on the last page, so this is useful info in this "Mother of All Gen-III Threads")
Good tip! Of course you can expand it to show more than 10 posts so instead of 56 pages, it's 15 pages.
Here's something I discovered a couple of weeks ago, though I don't think it was posted here: if the sunroof is open and you power off and open the drivers door, you'll get a couple of warning beeps (it took me a minute to realize what I was being warned about!) It's a great reminder in case you left it open by mistake. Unfortunately since the power to it is off at that point, you must hit the (Power) button a couple of times before you can close it. But it's still better than leaving it open when you hadn't intended to.
The company that manufactures the Prius solar panel is Kyocera, and they have set the world record for the efficiency and output of solar voltaic panels many times.
I don't know if this was mention but when you get close to the car with the remote the interior light goes on.
I think he means the one above those, the parking light. You can replace the filament bulb with wedge (T20) LED.
I found out from the guy who tinted the windows: The small rear window with the defoggers is plastic not glass.
The designers have really thought things through... the rear seat can be folded without obstruction even if the 2nd front cupholder is in use (i.e. the console is slid back into the rear compartment)
"When you depress the rear hatch release button it unlocks all the doors and opens the hatch." That's if your package included the button. Otherwise, if you don't want to use the fob (two pushes), you walk forward and grab the driver's door handle, hear the double beep, and then walk aft and open the hatch. (It's the Toyota exercise plan.)
Strange!! Yours may be plastic but mine clearly states right on the glass that it is TEMPERLITE which is tempered glass. See the post TINTING 101 in the knowledge base for more information.
Interesting that the tinted moonroof and lower rear window allow more heat to come in. Also, this confirms that the Prius' windshield is an acoustic windshield (sound insulated). Hope you don't get a crack. It will be more expensive to replace than a standard windshield.
