Having statistics on THANKS

    I would like to see statistics, per user, on the THANKS button.

    A page the regroups all the users in one place, ordered by # of thanks. Then being able to view which posts received the most thanks, etc.

    I've noticed that some posters have more thanks than posts ! Quite an accomplishment.

    Please vote !

    (also, you may thank me on this...;))

    Nothing weird about that. More than one person can thank a user for a post, and you may issues thanks without posting.

    Sorry, my coffee hasn't finished circulating yet. We have 'thanks' stats already, and thanker's names show up beneath the thankee's posts. What is it you want to see?

    edit: Changed the whole post, but Tom already quoted it, so now you can see both. And yes, the coffee's still seeping in. ;)

    Maybe the thanks tally could be added to the list of members, along with the number of posts. Those who are thankless should not remain nameless.

    And what do you think about a 'you're welcome' button? Wouldn't that would be the polite thing to do?

    Besides "Thanks", I'd like to see a "This made me laugh" button, and a "This post is totally pointless" button. well, maybe not the last one, I can see that one starting a whole firestorm of posts in defense. That would be thankless. But, I would like the "Laugh" button. :)

    Part of this is already available in your control panel. On the statistics tab, there is a link that shows what posts you thanked, and what posts you made that others thanked.

    I tried that, but mine showed mostly posts about sheep. There must be something wrong with the stats.

    Those thanks are only the thanks thanked by a single user. I can't see who thanked the most or which post got thanked the most.

    It would be a thankless job going through all the users and posting all the thanks in a thank post - post in order of thanks.

    True, but I imagine it wouldn't be too onerous to add 'thanks' to the viewable user stats. Name, posts, thanks for, thanks by...and we could sort by field like in any other database.

    I like the thanks feature, it makes me feel appreciated when I get one and is a way to glean and give positive reinforcement.
