Prius IV with solar and nav in Blizzard Pearl for 29.5K, no money out of my pocket, took the 3 year lease option with 15k miles/year at $403.00/month. They offered the 3rd year of maintenance, including inspection, at $99.00, which is the only extra I took. Gave them a trade in worth 1k. Did everything via email/blackberry/phone and only went in for 1 hour to pick up. Took possession mid April.
I just leased a new 2010 Prius II in GA with 7% county tax all rolled into 35 payments of $265 w/tax zero down. 36 month lease with 15k miles/yr. I think I got a fair deal. I was a little upset over $400 window tint.... $400 floor mats .... $699 paint protection/misc bs. and $99 bumper cover on rear. Other than that I got it in Silver with dark grey int. I wanted white with dark grey int but they wanted $275 and $10 more a month for a color is absurd. I wanted to give them $1000 down to buy down the monthly rate to around $250 but then I would have had to make 36 payments instead of 35. I would have actually thrown away over $300 by doing so. It would have been 36 pays at 257. Made no sense. But a 71% residual is amazing. Best I have seen since leasing a Nissan Pickup in 1996 for 12 months at $68 yes $68 zero down or my 2005 Honda S2000 24 months $2000 down 23 pays $224. So I think I did well. Turning in my 2007 honda accord lx coupe at 35 pays of $260 later this month.
Just purchased a 2010 IV with solar, special color charge, and floor and cargo mats for $28,788 with destination. I took the $1,000 rebate and it became $27,788. MSRP was $31,650
We just got our new Prius yesterday Prius IV Blue Ribbon with Bisque Options: Solar roof (SY), Floor Mats (CF) Price of the car: $27724 Other costs: Destination (750), Processing (100), MD Tax 6% (1708), Tag & Title (233) Total paid: 30515 Antwerpen, Clarksville, MD
Prius iv with solar and floor mats. Paid $29,900 not including the sales tax (8.625% in Suffolk county, Long Island. Edmunds lists True Market Value as $30,259, so I'm happy.
I think that the previously quoted $27,100 price for a IV with solar and nav must have been bogus or at the least did not include destination charges. The lowest I have seen since for such a car has been in the range of upper 28'K since. That is a difference of close to $2000 or over 7%.
I don't know what Tom did, but I bought mine at the end of April from Russel. You don't "have to" pay the prep fee. That's just something they try to get out of you. I just paid the tax, title/tags/destination. They will of course claim the fee is non-negotiable, but it isn't
Right, we have never heard of dealer prep fee, but both salesman (Young) and the general sale manager (Matt) told us that it can't be waved. The the general sale manger was very rude as well. The only reason we were there because they has the lowest price in the region. So we went to Antwerpen Toyota and ask them to match Ruessl's price. Did you go for the 0% APR? Thanks
Bought our Blizzard Pearl II at Springfield Toyota at their advertised price which is one of the lowest I've seen, $20682 + $750 delivery + $389 fee + state tax and tags. No trade-in. Good folks to work with. I had a similar experience talking with Russel as tzh except they weren't rude . Once fees were factored in the out-the-door price at Springfield was similar and they were closer to us.
I had a back and forth email exchange with Matt from Russel. He definitely had an attitude bordering on rude.
Both Springfield and Russel (even when Russel tacks on a fee they don't mention in the fine print) are advertising prices that nobody I've talked with will beat, so it pretty much came down to take it or leave it if they have a car like you want. I've seen a few folks here report slightly lower pricing but I pushed pretty hard for a few hundred $ less at multiple other places in the region but didn't come up with a better deal. In the end, I respect the folks who will advertise what is effectively a no-haggle price that no one else will beat.
When I bought it, There was no Rebate or Discount. Still, "Yor Price" is the Best price. is the Solar package = SY?
Their price on a IV with Nav was a few hundred lower than my local dealer's price on a IV base. What pissed me off was that I got a lease quote of $340/month $0 due at signing (including tax and GAP) for the IV base from my local dealer but somehow, Matt came up with a lease of $397/month with first month due at signing. How could he come up with a higher lease quote on a vehicle that was priced LESS and that required first month at signing?
Yeah, the SY is the solar package. I felt like I did pretty good. Another dealer was willing to do it. But, wouldn't get a blizzard pearl with gray. He was only going to do it in the bisque that he had in stock.
I did not go for the 36 month 0% APR, as I can't afford the higher monthly payments. So, I took the 2.9% 60 month offer. (beware of the "paint protection", "rust protection" and other junk they will try to upsell to you. Simply say no, or you'll think about it when pressured.) The "prep" is a sham. The car is already clean (why not!!), so the only "prep" is that they'll remove some stickers and MSRP tags from the window (interestingly, I thought only I the buyer was supposed to remove that). But it is definitely true that Russel gives the lowest prices in the area. I've taken their quotes to other dealers in MD, and they either can't believe the quotes, or can't match them.
Antwerpan didn't believe the price (from Russel, VI + SY at 27,742) that I told them, the salesman said that there was no way it goes that low. So I showed him the printout that made him quiet. Anyways, they did match the price without the prep fee. We are pretty happy with it
