I've never had any problem with my cat getting on the counters.

All you have to do is find a very picky eater that doesn't like wet places. (She would never eat the stuff that we do! :p Although, now that I think about it, she might make an exception for tuna, but she requires the servants to place it in the proper place.)

Seriously, the only thing we may have done was yell loudly when she first arrived.

Slow, Where can I get these bird spikes. They look like they may be the solution to my HDTV reception problems.

Chuck, This is probably a dumb question, but how did your cat learn how to use a can opener?

Hey, thanks for all the great suggestions and amusing anecdotes.

My cats LUV tin foil, rolled into crude balls. Thrown on hardwood floors, they make a nice sound, and when caught, they can sink their teeth in.

When vacuuming, and you suck one up, it makes a delightful noise going in - similar to an 18 wheeler truck doing engine braking.

We were yanked out of a sound sleep last night, when some big truck, going way too fast, decided to hit his jake brake. I thought that he was driving THROUGH THE MOTEL ROOM...

Okay... back to the regularly scheduled cat thread.

Wet countertops might help - most cats hate that.

Or you could shut the pizza box and put it in the oven on "warm" so every slice is that perfect temperature - yum...

Generally speaking, if your cats are used to finding food on the counters, they'll make return trips. In other words, your cats are on the counters because you trained them to by leaving unattended food there.
