For those doing backup camera installs - as mentioned it is a total and complete pain. I don't see how anyone would get the RCA connector through the boot at the hatch.

I ended up cutting off the RCA - and even then it was a real pain. I fished the wire through, and ended up making a very slight 'cut' in the center of the rubber to allow a small needle nose - which helped guide the wire through.

I then soldered on a new RCA connector.

Specific to the Z110, there's a guy selling the XM module for $170 with 2 yrs of activation on Ebay - I bought this, and it works great. It fits behind the HU - so nothing special as far as mounting goes. Antenna must have a good spot...

Pics of your Kenwood HU would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I agree it's a bit of a pain to install the camera, but I didn't encounter the same issue as you with the connector. I used a Boyo VTL300 I think it is - got it from Amazon. It's a lic plate camera and really well designed. The picture is awesome, you can adjust the tilt on the camera with an included Allen wrench and best of all if you run the camera wire from front to back there is a VERY small connector - barely larger than the wire itself that makes feeding the camera not so bad at all. That rubber boot is a pain - which reminds me I still need to try and get the lower gasket of the boot reseated - not an easy task.

Thanks for the advice. I found a thread on Avic411 that made the bypass super easy. I didn't move the mute wire at all. I just took an 18 guage wire, stripped the end and cut off all but about four strands. Stuck that in and folded the strands over a bit so they won't pull out and also taped the wire to the others so it couldn't be pulled out. Works perfectly and no work trying to get the mute wire out.

I think the bypass, and wire move are FAR easier than the htread shows. If you push in the side of the connector, then use a staple to push out the pin, it takes seconds...
