I used to think that people would look at me (even out here in Kentucky) and think, "wow, that's one of those super fuel efficient cars...what an environmentally conscious, economical family they must be!".

Now my wife and I joke that they are looking at us in "terror". We've become a pariah of society, with other drivers looking at us and thinking "DANGER, DANGER! That car could accelerate out of control at any moment! Or they won't be able to stop and will crash into that helpless line of cars ahead of them!"

Especially when they have sunglasses on? How can you see what their eyes are focused on?

As another poster indicated, there are so many Priuses in the bay area, you're not exactly a rarity.

I look at the traffic - a three mirror sweep and look forward - traffic spacing, road position, trafficator signals, relative speed. I don't look at driver details.

IF they are behind you then they should be looking at your car. Don't you look at the cars infront of you while you drive? Hmm seems like you don't because you too busy looking the drivers behind you.

To tell you the truth if any car is behind a Prius they will go in the head like this "oh man another one of those ugly slow Prius, now how can I over take him the fastest and safest way, these cars shouldn't be on the road"

Hahaha, this is one of the funniest thread I've ever seen. Of course no matter what car you drive, drivers behind you have no choice but look at your car! Also, I agree everytime I drive and talk on the phone same time I see more cars in front of me getting out of my way lately even though it used to be other way around before run-away prius news! Someone told me not to use my phone as it makes other drivers around me nervious that I might be talking to 911 about how to stop my prius! Anyway, thanks for the laugh, everyone! Toyota rules, everyone knows it!!!
