Oh you are so 1990's, I have the optional Prius Brain implant, I just think what I want to do and the car does it on it's own.

As I read this thread I am becoming a fan of the half-truth. My current favorite is the amazing comment that because Ford uses Microsoft technology, it would not be a good purchase choice.

Well. I wouldn't buy a Ford, and I am total Microsoft fan. Of course, the Ford Sync system (Microsoft's software) controls the entertainment system and voice control, so has no significant input on how the car performs.

On that subject, my Gen II had its own problems with voice control. Most times when I said "home", it said, "Turning on bank icons". I think Toyota did that on purpose. After a long day or evening, that response never failed to get a laugh. The car made other interpretive errors, but that one was my fave. How many people can say that they drive a car with a built-in comedian?

By the way, if you do have a PC and it has Win 7, try the built-in voice control. All you need is a USB microphone. It's really cool. Definately not perfect, but good enough to let you open Word and actually dictate a message that doesn't look like it came from a Ukrainian hacker.

Oh yes, another totally irrelevant comment: I am getting a great deal of amusement out of the fact that the very people who have told me, "I would never have a car that is drive-by-wire" are now learning that their cars have had electronically controlled accelerators for years! Maybe some of them will try tying a string from the gas pedal to the throttle body to avoid them dang computer problems.

Yes, this thread is definately high forum art. We should all be very proud of ourselves.

 

Oh wow! So if you get pissed off at someone who cuts you off, your car automatically rams the offending car? What a feature! If my car did what I was thinking.....never mind.

 

Ever drive in Boston? the answer is, a definite "yes", cut them off, or be cut off, it's a jungle out there.

 

Now we know the true cause of SUA: "Whoa, I'd do that little hottie in the tight pants..." zzzzzzziiiiiiii, bang (sound of Prius accelerating across the intersection, running off the road, and hitting a hapless coed wearing tight pants.)
