I'm looking at the wiring harness for my Pioneer AVIC x910bt and it has a ground wire with has a loop for a screw to attach it to the car chassis. my Toyota 87-up wiring harness also has a ground wire. what's the best way to take into account these two wires? should I cut the screw loop off the avic Headunit and connect it to the toyota wiring harness ground? Additionally, with the PAC SWI-PS, Do I wire that onto the same toyota power source? I see the Toyota Wiring harness has an orange wire labeled "Dimmer" and the AVIC has an orange wire labeled ILL, are these to be connected together?
I don't use the black ground wire on the 87-up harness. I connect all my grounds to the grounding point (there is one in the back left bar that you can see behind the HU). Yes, connect pac swi-ps red & black to red & black of 87-up harness. white go to 20pin/resistor. dim/illu are same but check with a meter or a small bulb first. (because i don't remember this very well)
does anyone know what the orange wire is for on the 5 wire toyota harness that comes with the 87-up harness?
