Prius video - "2010 Toyota Prius brake problems. Easy fix, amazing documentry"

That is under normal condition. I am not sure if the Prius is under abnormal condition; can you do that?? Example, when your Windows computer goes to blue screen mode; can you take control back or get out of blue screen mode without reset or unplug the power???

 

If I am understanding the audio in the video correctly, he implies has no brakes after he puts it in neutral? But does when he powers down? Is this correct?

And yes, it is high time this stuff gets to Youtube. Genius.

 

I'm not sure that's a valid comparison. The question should be if you get a BSOD you reboot? Most likely. Similarly, if you crashed your car, can you get it fixed? Again, most likely.

Here, what the driver illustrates is how to stop a Prius under normal conditions. The implication is that the driver in CA just didn't know how to drive his car. Given that he needed direction from the CHP to do something as simple as use the parking brake to stop the car shows he was either inept or acting, not a victim.

Not that is not correct. In neutral you most definitely have full power and control of both brake and steering systems.

Funny? As one who reads the forum I find it offensive and rude. Why? Can I have a 40 f word per post here on this forum? No? Why post the video on the Home page then? It really lowers the standards and reputation of this site when reinforces what some already think if Prius owners. No flaming or trolling here, just an honest of opinion. Sad to see the low standard on this site.

 

Perhaps a similar video could be generated, equally denigrating
to the stupid driver but with less f-bomb laced through it?
Bet the video would be a little shorter, then... I still agree
that people need to learn to drive their ... cars.

It also doesn't address pressing the brakes hard. It's really just a response to the San Diego incident showing that shifting to neutral or turning off the engine allows the vehicle to coast to a stop.

I have to admit I'm surprised too. It is a pretty harsh video. The references to retards and busses might not go over so well with some.

That was good! Not politically correct.... but that makes it even better. Its also very educational, shows how fast and easy these things are to do.
