Central Florida in the 30's and 40's Brr! add new tires cooper CS4 at 35psi, and interstate driving at 65 to 75 mph and I should kill the mpg. The scanguage II says the engine temp starts at 120 and gets up to 175 to 180 by the time I drive 33 miles to work. Not like the usual 188* any one of these should ding the mileage. the tires have less than 300 miles on them so yea they need some more scrubbing. Nowadays I find it not safe to do less than 65 in Interstate 4! I was doing 65 in the far right lane and someone sped past to the right of me! 3 tanks of about $20 each time (6.something gallons) 66 miles round trip to work and home. with warmer weather, the GY integrities at 42/40, and 60-65 mph on same racetrack gas and I was averaging 54.0 give or take .2 . Now I am averaging 48.9 ! When the Tire pressure goes up to 42/40 and the weather gets up into the 70's again, and I slow back down to the 60-65 usual limit I hope to get back up there even tho the coopers are grippy. I may not see the 54 again with these tires. I like the tires but they seem to make me go faster for some reason. They turn cool! or is it that the integrity's are just that bad???
One thing I learned is that a worn out set of Integrities get great gas mileage. Just don't plan on stopping when they get wet.
down to 47.8 assuming that doing over 65 and new tires added to the cold is doing it's work. Supposed to be in the 60's in the morning! Hope to do better.
Under similar conditions in Colorado (new snow tires, winter cold and 75 MPH commute) I get closer to 37.8. See what 5,000-7,500 feet altitude and REAL cold weather do to mileage?
i just got new tires too and saw my MPG drop from 48-49 to 44-45 if I'm lucky.....driving me batty (especially b/c they are 'energy saver' tires)....
add snow and then you know how we feel in the frozen north! Surprised that your engine temp only goes up to 175 - 180 after 33 miles. I would do grill block (at those cold temps) for quicker warm up and heat retention.
