Prevent autoplay (bluetooth)?

I have an Android Nexus one and Prius III with Nav and bluetooth audio. Everytime I connect my bluetooth audio, the music begins playing, whether I want it to or not. This is really annoying. I'd be happy to hit the play button when I am ready for the music to start.

It seems that the Prius is sending a "play" command as soon as it connects.

Has anyone else observed this? Is there any way to disable this behavior?

    Thanks!

I think I had that same problem with my Nokia 5800 and because of it my battery would be dead in a day or two, where normally it would last for nearly a week. So I disabled the BT music setup from my Prius audio system and the battery went back to lasting a week or so. I have not re-enabled the BT Audio setup on the Prius as I don't want to have to charge my phone daily.

When BT is powered up on your phone, then it's gonna have an effect on the battery, moreso if it's sending music. You want that BT on to use the car's hands-free, so you gotta give up a little battery life on that aspect.

But, if you don't have "BT" selected on the stereo, it's not going to stream music, so that shouldn't affect your phone battery, should it?

I always have BT enabled on my phone but generally get a week or so out of the battery. It was only when I setup the Prius nav system with my phone in the BT Audio mode that the battery drain occured. I think the Prius nav system was possibly telling my phone to start playing BT Music and stream whether I selected it on the Prius nav or not and would then drain the phone battery sooner.

I have a Nexus one and I am experiencing the same behavior, although I rather like it. From a control standpoint the question is, does it only start the music only if the "Aux" input is selected, or does it start playing it automatically on BT connection regardless of what the sound system is set to . If it's only when you select "aux" then this "autoplay" can probably be prevented by turning off the sound system or selecting a different input (Sat, FM, etc.) before you power off the car. I will test this behavior later today.

When the stereo is in BT mode, it will connect to the phone and tell it to stream. Switch ti any other mode, the stream stops. I've noticed, if I switch to a mode from BT, when I go back to BT, I have to hit the connect button on the screen.

I charge my iPhone daily, since I use it soooo much.

I can't get thet BT streaming to work on my iPhone. What's the secret? I think I read something about changing the pairing code but I can't find the thread.

In the iphone, go to the BT window that says "Now Discoverable", Settings>General>Bluetooth>, they "add" a phone via the Prius head unit. Ina minute, you'll see "CAR MULTIMEDIA" in the Bluetooth options of the iPhone.

It was rather painless. Go to the phone section, add the contacts, and you are rolling!

I have a Fascinate and a 2010 Prius, the built in phone music player starts whenever I turn on my car, even when I'm streaming a radio program. There's no option in the player to turn off autoplay, in the phone Bluetooth settings you can turn off Media, but all I want is for the stupid player to not play unless I tell it to!
I'm guessing that the problem is with the phone, not the car...
    Any suggestions?
