The problem with missile defense is that there would no longer be a balance of mutually assured destruction.
We could first strike without fear of retaliation.
Thats assuming the thing would work which I highly doubt.
Remember the Patriot missile in Desert Storm?
The whole thing was a lying sham and it never really functioned as a missile defense.
It was a fabrication of the GHW Bush administration and the media played along.
Anyway ,if you tip the balance of MAD,then you are escalating an arms race to build the better missile defence.
Theres no end.

If the sham and fabrication had been found out, Israel would have entered the war against Saddam and the coalition of Arab states would have broke down. I don't think anyone wanted that.

 

And besides that, it made for some really cool video footage: light streaking up into the night sky; big flash; impressive streamers. I liked it.

Yeah, but Israel loves keeping the insanity alive, it brings in big revenue from the US, it allows them to continue their land grab with US funds, military equipment and backing, just another massive waste of military funding.

 

Many people in this country would rather spend trillions on military waste, over trying to improve the country, those people have no sense of reality or value, thus why every time a Republican takeover of congress and the White House happens, massive corruption and debt spending on waste follows.

You were questioning the rationality (and accusing me of being stoned!) I merely pointed out that your previous references and reliance on the heritage foundation as a source of "rational" thought serves to question your own ability to reason.
