Convex vs. Flat Rearview Mirrors

    I plan on buying a 300mm Broadway mirror so I can see better since there are a lot of blindspots for the Gen III Prius. I'm just wondering what would be better, convex or flat? I figure convex may be better since it should allow me to see more, but I'm wondering if it'll distort distance too much and throw me off. Any input would be appreciated.

    Small wedge shape stick on mirrors on the outside rear view mirrors work very well and are cheap.

    Also, there are some you can suction cup them on the bottom of the windshield.

    I ended up purchasing one of these: Aspherical LHD driver mirror and am extremely happy with it!

    2/3 of it (closest to the vehicle) is regular mirror and the outside 1/3 is aspherical to show you the blind spot. Works brilliantly! And, the sellers were very easy to deal with.

    there's a similar brand "Level" - rear side mirrors, convexed and blue tinted to filter out reflected lights. not sure if it's available for GIII...

    Even with the additions that have been mentioned, check out this article. I've always angled my side mirrors out to eliminate blind spots and reflective duplication. That is to say, when I can see a car in one mirror I know it's there and don't need to see it in two mirrors. I also find it unnecessary to have my own car in the reflection.

    Convex mirrors give me a headache, I guess I'm sensitive to the distortion. The 300mm flat mirror serves me well, along with properly adjusted side mirrors.
