So what if the prius gets recalled and don't provide a software fix like they say? Would we received a reimbursement? Get another car 2010 prius with the issue resolved?
How 'bout a further magnification of the problem leading to decreased sales and decreased resale, for starters.
Do you seriously thing that would happen? Or is it more realistic that the fix would be tested time and again before released to the public?
Well, first they take away your birthday, then they take the 2010 Prii, and put them in a car crusher, very similar to what GM did with all of the EV1's. Eh? Wth are you talking about? a "Recall" is only a TSB (Technical Service Bulletin), that is government mandated/agreed upon. They are going to fix the issue, even if it is only an issue of how the brakes "feel" to the user. Mitch
I think that you might misunderstand the process. It's the manufacturer that issues the recall. The manufacturer issues the recall when it has a solution. It then applies the solution.
dont care at all if they "repair" the "problem". My 2010 abs seems to act just like my 2003 did. i drive conservatively and believe there may be one in a million chance experiencing an accident due to this system.
sorry new about this situation.. I read that they might take the car back instead of a fix.. just curious what we would get in return..
My view too. I watch for space debris more closely than I pay attention to this when driving the '10s.
No this will never happen. That's not what a recall is. That vehicle is yours and yours alone after you pay it off. Nobody can take it from you if you obey the laws.
They will take your car away, crush it, and give you $ 100 for recycling the plastic and metal components, PLUS a $250 discount coupon for the purchase of a brand new Toyota! Keith
I think it is a right thing to do for Toyota. Honesty and transparency to the customer are the best policies. Because safety is not tolerable and it can not be negotiated. Try to cover it up or to blame on the newbies is not very responsible. Some newbies of Prius have more than 40 years of driving experiences. I don't believe they have no idea what ABS should behave like... Give me a brake.... a well functioned brake.
Do you have a link to where some source said that Toyota would take the vehicle back instead of fix it? That'd be something to see someone actually publish that!
I don't know what this thread is about? A certain percent of the population thinks it is a problem - you don't have to agree but it is a fact. So the demand is less. Econ 101 will tell you that the price will be lower if there is less demand. If they recall it, a certain percent of the population would think it is OK. Increasing demand. So prices will be higher but not as high as before because another percentage don't think it will ever be fixed. If they don't fix it, the resell value would be a bit less.
No, Keith, I'm going to let mine sit in the field and biodegrade, just like in the commercial! :banplease:
I bet it is going to take a lot longer than the duration of a TV commercial to completely degrade. Keith
Okay so basically when the prius gets recalled that means that the dealerships WILL provide a fix? But when if they can't provide a fix then what happens that's what I'm pretty much trying to understand.. sorry for the confusion
They won't take the car back. Just would like to know where did you read that they might take the car back?
