I noticed, while backing up yesterday, that my rearview camera no longer covered my entire rear bumper. I used to be able to see my entire rear bumper protector but now I am only able to see part of it. I thought someone hit the camera but everything seems to be damaged free. What does everyone else see in the rearview camera? I'll post a picture of my screen when I get home.
I see the entire bumper and then well beyond with the wide angle lens. Find your camera lens and clean it off. You evidently have some dust or dirt on the lens, blocking part of your view.
I can't see the entire bumper, at least not the ends of it. It didn't work that way even when I first bought it. I wonder if there's some way to adj. it?
Clean the lens first. You can hack into the service menu and modify the camera settings, but that shouldn't be necessary.
Same here, I've never really seen the bumper, just a very wide angle view of the immediate rear and outwards. I have found it to be very accurate and useful when backing out of the driveway.
So this is what I currently see from my rearview camera. I thought I used to be able to see the whole bumper but now the view seems to be “zoomed inâ€. Perhaps the camera moved inside the housing (pictured). I also included a view of the bumper for reference
twmark, I stand corrected. I checked my rearview camera this afternoon and I see pretty much what you see in your attached photo. Dwight
Read the manual. You will find that there are two calibration lines on the bottom of the screen that should line up with the bumper. If they don't mention it at the next service. Mine sit right on the bumper and I can see less than half the bumper. Rather see more out beyond the bumper than see a dirty bumper that is one of the best dust and dirt magnets ever created. I find myself washing the car every week just to keep the back half presentable. David
