So let me see if I'm getting this right. Your choices were either posting a thread entitled "Demo Plug In Prius Begin Arriving in The US" or "Does this make you drool or what?" ?

Well thanks for keeping the tone...."real".

What's Toyota's next slogan, "Drooling Forward"?

Plus I think I can can speak for most of the forum when I say the displeasure was just friendly banter...asking people in this forum if the new Plug In Prius makes them drool is like going to a dog show and asking people if they like puppies.

    You had me at "Plug-In"...

It is a bit bigger than one would expect if things were all proportional in size, but you have to think about all the extra safety precautions with a pack this size (capacity) and specially this chemistry.

This baby needs a lot more of cooling, and a lot more of supervision. After all you're going to charge it from the grid, and you're going to ask for much more power from it than you do with your regular HV battery.

    Absolutely not.

The voltage is different, the maximum power is different, you would miss the charger, different inverter, different ECU coding.

Forget it. The PHV Prius is a lot more than a Prius 3G with a larger battery. This is not a 3rd party add-on feature. This is fully integrated work.

The 17" version is for showrooms only, it is not production, the same way you saw 17" with solar roof earlier before 3G launch.

The PHV trial version uses 15" 185/65R15 for lower rolling resistance.

Bigger one, not in size, in capacity.

See my previous post, this would almost mean building a new car for you. Forget it. They are different beasts for different targets.

People who drive long will never gain anything with the PHV, on the contrary, they will get the same or worse fuel economy with the added weight and less trunk space, worse maneuverability, less equipment (keep car light), etc, etc.

There is no silver bullet. To each its own.

Congratulations, Toyota! It looks like your PlugIn Prius work is excellent. I am very much looking forward to production models being made available to customers here in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

I'm thinking that a salesman should be able to drive one. That way I can start spreading the news.. I am a certified master salesman if that means anything...

Please stop reading here Prius Team.

Ok, now that they left the room, I will presonally invite everyone on here to come over for a test drive after they drop it off to my dealership.

The "TV" button is to switch the Prius into "television mode," as is shown in the below image:
Clever, but I don't seem to understand how this even fits into ...
    ...our dimension in the universe.
It's true! The Prius came from extra-terrestrial intelligent life!
There must have been a mixup in the worm hole!

Sorry about that Paradox, I was reading and replying from oldest messages to newer ones - I had not seen yours when I replied.

Good thing we both said the same thing though... ;)

To me this only means you are as anxious to share more information about the PHV as anyone else holding privileged information and in love with the technology. This is great.

It is not always that we see a product manager (and his team) loving promoting the car they're "selling". This only means that if you don't share more is just because company policy does not allow you to.

One can breathe your anxiety for telling more, to see more people understanding how great this technology is and what it can do. It must be hard to hold on to such a large amount of data on this car and not being able/allowed to share it....

So I think people should really thank you for pouring in these small details, these news, baby steps for sure, but hell we're moving!

P.S. - Next step could perhaps be to share you're personal (Prius Team) opinion and feelings about how the car accelerates in EV mode, how it feels to go at 100 km/h in EV mode, how the car reacts when you push it more... you know... I think people would love to know that... just a suggestion...
