I used to fly some yellow little trees on my VW New Beetle (because they matched the color and the vanillaroma smelled nice)...but I'm reluctant to put anything other than my faculty parking sticker on my rearview mirror of my Prius. So, what do you hang from your rearview mirror???
Unless my father is in my car and I need to hang his handicapped hang tag on there, I don't hang anything on there. What I do as far as air freshener is use Leather, New Car, or Vanilla Scent - Interior Detailing - Car Care - Griot's Garage by pouring a small amount on a piece of sponge and place it in a thoroughly cleaned out small can, say something small like you can get tuna fish in etc. I place that under the seat and it lasts quite a while without having to obstruct my view in any way... Griots recommendation for the sponge is good but I like to then put it in the small can to keep it from touching the carpet even though it is under the seat.
One pet peeve of mine is when people hang the handicap parking tag on the mirror, when it says it big letters not to hang from rear view mirror while driving. It's a typical Rhode Island driver thing.
In my previous vehicle, I had a heart-shaped cut-quartz crystal that my wife gave me. The facets reflect sunlight sparklies all over the place. I moved it when I bought the Prius...looks good on the mirror.
I sometimes hang my sunglasses from the mirror, but not while driving because they swing around too much. While camping, the huge dash is very handy for all sorts of things.
While driving... nothing. Sometimes while parked I'll have the frau's placard hanging from the mirror.
Not a thing. Don't like my view blocked - particularly in the Prius with its relatively low rear view mirror.
