does anyone know where the back up beeping sound is coming from? I mean where the speaker for the beep is at because it is really annoying and want to reduce volume, although i still want the beeping just no so loud

I don't think the user can change the volume of the beeping sound. Just go to your dealer and change it to single beep. It WILL definitely make your life (ears) more peaceful. It will take them few minutes. Make them do it for free.

I had it changed when took delivery because I knew it would drive me crazy.

I had it changed to single beep before having the car given to me from the dealer when I first got it.
This multiple beep thing is simply non-sense and I don't understand how Toyota engineers would come up with this - especially when the beep is *only* inside and cannot be heard outside...

I agree with your opinion of the stupid reverse beep, I have had mine turned off as well as the extra beeps from the front seat belts. I suspect that the some of the annoying things about this car do not come from Toyota engineering, I think they come from Toyota managers who have been scared  into it by their own lawyers.

Why not disable it? That's why some settings are configurable in firmware.

The OP doesn't want it disabled - just not as loud.
