Lets not make a mountain out of a molehill.... the normal Halogen headlight assembly if "full" of mirrors designed to send light straight out.
It would stand to reason that a light shining into them would get reflected right back....
However, most of the time someone else has there lights on and that would be a danger, you have yours on to and so its a standoff!

On another note,..... is it illegal to simply be gentlemen and kinder and instead of atomizing the idiot in front of you in the passing lane with custom rocket launchers.. can we just install forklift shafts to go forward, lift up their car and flip them into the ditch?

It's a great idea. But have you come across any safety issues?

So -- would be more or less of a hazard to oncoming vehicles?

A convex mirror like this one will reduce the brightness of the reflection. Its focal point is actually behind the mirror and therefore it diminishes the reflective light and disperses the light rays in all directions up to 180 degrees in front of the mirror.

I have checked this out using these mirrors and a bright spotlight in shinning toward the mirrors at night. The reflection is hardly even visible and becomes less so as the distance between the spotlight and mirror increases – the refection is small and faint because of the dispersion. It’s actually like looking through the opposite end of a pair of binoculars – it reduces both the image and the brightness.

If concave mirrors were used it would magnify and concentrate the light from the spotlight -- the reflection would probably make it a safety issue.

Looks pretty snazzy. Another option might be a metal grill of some kind, like a small speaker grill.

I bought the 2" mirrors from Walmart but they won't stick on the rubber circles because the frame on the mirrors raise them a bit and the backs won't make contact with the rubber circles, which dip inwards a little.

Maybe the ones you got are different, or did you add something to the back of the mirrors?

ATTN Doc Willie: Apparently starfleet has approved the use of Micro-Deflectors. You can have them installed should your current G2 shuttlecraft be hit by a Borg Hummer Cube.

Are these 2-inch mirrors? Did you have any trouble sticking them onto the rubber foglight blanks?

The back of the mirrors I got from Walmart don't seem to make contact with the blanks and so won't stick.

    Those are 2" mirrors.
Since the foglight blanks are concave, the stickum on the back of the mirrors does not make good contact. I used contact cement (you could use Goop or silicone glue) to fill the part of the concavity. I also removed the paper from the stickum on the back of the mirrors, pressed them in somewhat and covered them with the same contact cement that I put into the concavity. I let the cement dry for a few minutes and then pressed the mirrors into place.
    BINGO - sticks in place.:D
