I fill up at 250 mi or whenever the tank is less than 1/2 full - and definitely before it reaches 1/3.

Reason 1: Sometimes, I wake up late and have to run to work. No time to put in gas. If I take too much time putting in gas, I hit morning traffic and the commute gets much worse. So I want to keep the tank at least half full.

Reason 2: The gas cap does not wear out. I figure spacing the gas fillings to use up the last drop is just a game for fun - which is fine for some but not for me. What if I wake up in the middle of the night and my kid has to go to the hospital? Yes, I can make it with one gallon (50 mile range) but why play games like that when my kid's life is involved.

I have a working car and I am a full time Dad, I prefer it to be ready at all times to tackle an emergency. So I gas when the tank reaches 1/2 or 1/3.

Driving ca. 60 miles, five days a week, a tank lasts 10 days, + or -, 500 miles to a tank. I make an effort to "drive off the top of the tank" not the bottom during cold weather.

ya, ok, i can see that...after all we think of bananas we picture nice neat bundles at the grocery store....same as picturing concrete right?

after all, sand is part of concrete right??

    speaking of which...

last night we saw this movie "aliens in the attic" was about a family from MI who rents a beach house for summer vaca... the "aliens" were using GPS to pinpoint a device that happened to be buried in the basement of the house in it ran right to Tom's front porch... or at least maybe his neighbor's porch...

was a very deja vu type of moment.

Yes, she knows it. She was there this summer with a friend who has a house not far from Northport. She said it is a very small town, but very pretty area.

Average every 7-10 days for me. My commute is roughly 23-24 miles each way.

I fill up my Ford F-150 (SuperCrew/4x4) once every 4 - 5 weeks. I mostly ride a bicycle to work (1.3 miles each way). I can only imagine how seldom I might fill up with the up coming plug-in Prius!! I want that car!!

If you brim the tank, which mean fill up right to the top of the
filler neck you can easily go 450 to 500 miles with real
    world driving.

I know people will think the world will come to an
end if you fill the tank to the brim, but once and in awhile
    I am sure it won't.

Remember when the pump first clicks off you can
still get about 2.1 gallons in the tank.

Just remember that when you take your car in for a CEL, and the dealer tells you your Evap Canister has been soaked in gas, (indicating you over filled) and as such is not under warranty. Don't complain about the price of this repair :D
Fill until the pump kicks and then round to the nearest Dime!

985km or 610miles if you trust the Distance to Empty.

If I calculate based on real fuel economy... over 1100km (680miles) before the car dies.
