What I meant to say is "How often do you fill up your Prius?"

Once or twice a month on the average. It's less than once a month for normal driving, but when you add in the occasional out of town trip it ups the average.

I don't know about others - but for me, it seems to correlate with how much I drive in any given period.

I have a 50 mile daily workday commute and average about 425 miles before the last bar displays on the fuel gauge. This usually means filling up every 9 to 10 days.

Same here. I think how many miles you get on a tank is more relative. That is listed in the other thread.

Measured how? By time or mileage?
I am retired, so my average on a time-line basis since I purchased the car is 17 days per tank. But that is deceptive, as I am approaching 2 months since my last fill-up .... I just haven't driven very far in that time.

OTOH, on a mileage basis, the only really valid criterion I've averaged around 327 miles per tank since purchasing the car new in September 2007. My highest tank mileage was 504 miles on a long trip North to Oregon on May, 2009.

2 to 3 weeks on average. I usually drive about 350 miles before refilling.

I fill up and wash my car every sunday wheather it needs it or not.

I dont know how long a tank of gas lasts because I am not willing to let it run out of gas.

same as Tom. once a month if no trips out of town are taken. same with both Pri's except that the 2006 almost never goes out of town anymore.

also, since its winter, have stopped driving Zenn as commuter and now only use it for local errands so 2010 is driven much more than before. so tanks might only go a "little" as 3 weeks although i have been driving the 2010 for more than a month and still took a month and a day between last fillup

was lucky that Thanksgiving was 2 miles away. but X-mas will be much different. already have 3 out of town trips planned and that will mostly likely go up as more plans solidify

Do you guys work outside your home?

I have to fill up every 7-10 days. I get about 425 miles to a tank with one bar showing.

With this cold weather and our Prius mpg's dropping like a fat rock at 300 miles I am looking for a gas station.

Petrol prices here fluctuate on a weekly cycle. I fill up every 2 weeks to avoid getting caught having to refill at a high point in the price cycle. Prices peak on pension day, why do I hate oil companies? No I am not on a pension.

I should add, the last time I filled the Toyota Crown was back in August, the time before that was so long ago that adding fuel in August made the engine run better as the fuel in the tank was going off.

Commuting to work is for chumps. :D:rolleyes::p

Sorry about that - I couldn't resist. I live and work in the same building, although it's not a home business. We have a multi-use building that contains both commercial and residential space. My morning commute consists of walking from the residential portion to the commercial portion.

Adding to fuel economy, our building is located downtown in a small village. I walk to the grocery store, the hardware store, the post office, bank, school, marina, restaurants, and pretty much everywhere. The Prius comes out only for long trips and the occasional shopping excursion to the city.

Gas prices here go up for the weekend influx of tourists, then drop again early in the week.

I dont really consider my drive to work that big of a deal. Here in Texas if you dont drive to work, you probably dont own a car/truck, or dont have a job.

I like having grass and trees and pee in the back yard if I want with nobody to bother me. :D

You can have your concrete jungle.

Yeah, I guess a concrete jungle would be a stretch for Northern MI?

But living that close to work, I would never get to go home!

I go out with a woman from the greater Traverse City area. :)

Then she would know the big metropolis where I live. Ask her if she has ever been to Northport?
