Wow. So I really wish I would have known about this little gem of a warning before I bought my car. (pg.40)

No aquariums? Wth??? No one told me that!!!

I already designed a built-in aquarium for the entire back of the car, planned everything out, had designs drawn up, paid a pretty penny for the custom build and waterproof divide... look how awesome it was going to be:

and now I can't put it in since it will surely void the warranty because it might harm the precious little traction battery?!?!?!?!

Now what am I going to do with all the coral and tropical fish in the middle of my living room? I can't return them!

    Hybrids are so overrated. :mmph:

And red was THE color of a would-be AquaPrius, too. So sorry. Couldn't you just put the dogs back there now?

Time for a little stress analysis:

    • 22 ft.{3} luggage space
    • 47 ft.{3} half of passenger volume
    • 69 ft.{3} available aquarium volume
    • 62.4 lbs. / ft.{3} water density SAE units
    • 4,305.6 lbs. not counting sand, coral and denser material
A two ton, hybrid electric aquarium ...

It all depends on the type of fish. Electric eels are okay.

By the looks of the puddles near the front tires I think you already have a leak.

    Good one.

Classic. Go with a terrarium. I have transported a few aquariums but only buckets of water (in the front). Wonder what that extra ton of water would have done to your fuel economy?

You are not thinking this through, the batteries are in the back so the weight is evened out, once you add 2 tons of water to the back hatch, relocating both batteries to the front of the car will still not make it nose heavy. If you mount the Traction battery vertically in the front seat and put a shirt on it, it will look like a passenger and you can use the HOV lane anytime.

Try double glazed windows, put the fish between the panes, then you only need a small amount of water. Hack the solar panel to drive the air pumps.

Guys, as a member of ReefCentral.com who happens to have a salt water reef tank, I can tell you that he might not be joking! ;)

You should see some of the extreme tanks people build - some require an entire basement and cleaning is done wearing scuba gear...

If you have a moonroof, you'll be able to sit on top of the car and (go fishing). :)

Given the weight, this is probably best handled by a Jetta TDI. But it may make more sense to reverse the roles and use the vehicles to make artificial reefs:
