Ok.. so we went to 2 dealers today. The first dealer did not have the car in stock that I wanted IV with nav; so we went to a nearby dealer that had 4 of them. We went through the whole process again.. the test drive etc. All set to buy the car at MSRP of 28,550 and I had a trade in. The guy comes back he gives me what I want for my trade and then he marked the car up by $7,000 because of the "true market value" "supply and demand"- needless to say we left there laughing. NO WAY will I pay above MSRP! It looks like I will call the first dealership tomorrow- she said I would have to wait a week at MSRP. I can deal with that.....
Well, I finally got it! EXACTLY what I wanted, 2010 pkg III, Solar Roof, Red w/grey interior, and security for $400 over dealer invoice, just shy of $1800 under MSRP. When a red one came in with bisque interior they let me know in case I wanted to go with that and get it then but I wanted what I wanted and a few weeks later my baby came in. Toyota of Hollywood ROCKS! :cheer2: I'm very happy with my experience there. No hard sales tactics and stuck by their word. No muss no fuss. And they are my local dealer so that's an added bonus. Ali and Reza are the internet guys who helped me out.
Prius II, no options requested, free floor mats: $21,850 price tag, $750 delivery, $350 processing +tax. Did I get ripped off or is this an okay deal?
Prius II, with a few options, MSRP of 23,604 including delivery. Actual price 500 off MSRP plus 129 document fee for "out the door" price of 23,223. Note: This is a pre-MSRP increase car, with a couple hundred miles on it. Also note this is in GST region, and things about pricing here don't always follow national trends.
Got my first Prius last weekend. Have been lurking on this forum for a while. I got a pretty good deal: Prius III no nav with floor mats MSRP 24350 Paid 22865 + Taxes and Fees. Negotiate with dealers through email for about a week. I guess buying at the year end helps too.
Got my Prius IV with solar package (black ext/grey int) over the weekend in LA, and based on what I'm seeing, think I got a really good deal, but took some work and research. MSRP was $31,430 Purchase price $28,650. Only after fees I paid were $750 destination and $55 documentation and about $400 registration. Posted this elsewhere, highly recommend getting Consumer Reports car buying info, and this site called CARBUYINGTIPS.COM, worth it all the extra legwork, saved me nearly $3000 and got it done pretty quickly.
Get on the internet and shop. You may have to dive a few miles but you will save. It is better if your not trading something. That's where things get sticky on the trade value. (( market prices vary ))
this is my first post at the site! Considering the purchase of a used 2010 Prius with package IV, solar roof and technology (Nav, etc.). They have quoted me $26,500 roughly as a purchase price. The car has 4,000 miles. Is this a good price for the car? Thanks in advance!
I think that's a reasonable price; but I'm also wondering why someone would trade in or sell such a new car?? I'd check it out to be sure it wasn't damaged/repaired.
just got this email quote, in southern california, for prius package 2 with floor mats, the bumper applique, wheel locks. $20,995 plus 55 doc, taxes and lic. The OTD amount at your tax rate of 9.75 % will be 23,467 had to put deposit down, and am waiting for delivery. what do you guys think??
