Just found out from my father that we were able to make a deal with a dealership just outside san antonio and I'm finally going to be able to get rid of my 16 mpg pickup truck for a shiny black prius III . Cannot wait to drive it home for the first time. Question... I own an iPhone 3G, does it work well with the built-in bluetooth? Thanks
Sorry, but I don't have BT in my Prius, so I can't help you with your question. But I can welcome you to the forums.
I've got the IV and my iPhone 3Gs works as it should for making phone calls and streaming BT audio from my iPod app. The USB integration kit that comes along with the Safety Connect feature (if you have that option) does NOT work well and many have complained in the forum about how tedius and lame the interface is on it- and they're right. If you try to plug in the USB port and use your iPhone via the USB tab, you'll get an "error" message about Airplane Mode and the device not being recognized. That's because the iPod in your iPhone isn't the same as a dedicated iPod and Toyota/Apple aren't cooperating with each other on making them work together right (yet?). A word of advice: After you make your BT connection for the phone part of your iPhone, power it down fully, then reboot it. Some have found that there's a long delay in the response but it seems to go away if you power down your iPhone and reboot.
