OK I have read so much on this forum and the web, I had a 2004 and never had any problems with it, 2006 seems like it full of problems, as well as other years.

What years have you had and had the most problems with?
Please make this your own experience.

You can vote for more then one if you have owned more.

If you have a great prius and no problems just don't vote:)

06 full of problems? I've only had to change the oil in mine........... a set of tires, wiper blade replacements. that's it. period. no other problems. everything works as good as it did when I first drove it off the lot.

have an 08 with 50k miles

Only problem is with HID headlight failure. Dealer replaced at 45k miles, even though it was past warranty. Would have cost $300+ if I had to pay for it.

Have 08 with 44k miles on it. Problems 0. I am not the first owner, but I checked in the dealer's database. Didn't have to change a bulb in that time, not a single thing.

Bought used '04 in April 2009. Only normal maintenance items so far. Dealer maintenance history log shows Battery was replaced in 07/2008, but did not specify HV or 12v. Suspect it was the 12v.

Just in case the OP doesn't know, every year of prius has way better than normal track record. There is not a bad year for the car.

I'm sorry but I don't understand this poll.

Shouldn't it ask (1) what year you have and (2) if you've had a problem with that year.

Otherwise, you'll have hardly anyone answering the poll. Like now.

Not really they might have a 08 and the 04 was nothing but issues,

Lets say everybody here has an 04 and nobody has a 05. You may get a lot of votes on the 04 and none on the 05, not because the 05 has no problems, but because there are no 05s being represented.

Sorry Im not trying to argue or anything, I'm just trying to help. :)

This is a poorly structured poll. It limits voters to those who have or have had more than one Prius. Of that limited group, it will only apply to those who have had problems. I wouldn't expect many votes.

i think if you are attempting to find out if there was a "clunker" year for the Prius, there was not. Of course there are the usual problems, as with any car. Actually, there are fewer problems with Prius than most cars.

Is that what you were trying to get at with the Poll? If not, then I don't understand your point. If you can explain that, I know there are folks out here, including Prius people from Toyota, who may be able to answer your questions or address your concerns.

of all my years of reading 2004, and 2006's are the most problem prone,
yet with 64K my 2004 was still fine...

I have been reading this stuff since my first New 2004 Prius and keep a bit of a log on each year just for stats, this is the reason i am asking, that and i might be getting anouther prius soon

I think this poll is far too general to get the answers you're looking for. Why don't you ask specific questions or tell us more details such as which year you're intending to purchase?

I have a 2005. My car was recalled for a part in the steering linkage or something. I do not remember the details, something about a part that could break if you turned the steering wheel too hard to one side or the other. Repaired under warranty.

My coolant recovery pump started howling about a year and a half into ownership, it was replaced under warranty.

Twice experienced the gas belch from the filler port, what a mess.

Nav system went loopy / glitched, dealer said no problems detected, started working again. Works good now and has ever since except for the glitch???

I do my oil changes with Mobil 1 at the 5 thousand mile mark. Have had the transaxle drained and filled twice. Once by the dealer who did not want to change it at 70 thousand miles until I insisted, and once about 2 weeks ago by myself at 125 thousand miles. My HID's work fine and have since the car was new, but now that I mention it, they will probably die. The car runs good, and has never left me broken down anywhere. I replaced the 12 Volt auxiliary battery by myself at the 2 year mark because I wanted to. Cheap insurance in my opinion since the little 12 volt auxiliary battery is a well known achilles heel for the prius despite its year of build. The old battery is still in service as a starter battery for my Honda 3000 generator. Its also hooked up to a 800 watt inverter for small AC needs without the generator running. This battery is still going strong and is always kept on a float charger or 5 watt solar panel while camping. I digress, back to the topic at hand. My 2005 runs good, has had a few small problems, but still gets 48 to 50 MPG all the time on the freeways of Southern California. I would buy another hybrid from Toyota in the future.

EDIT: I just got a letter last week from Toyota about the accelerator issue. Or maybe they mean the all weather floor-mat issue? I have them and installed them with the retaining clips that came with them. They are still in place and the clips are holding well. I am more concerned about the accelerator issue being a glitch in the software rather than the floor-mats holding down the gas pedal. The mats will stay installed for now?????

08 #6. I had the MFD and NAVI reboot itself twice, but other than that, NOTHING. The last time it rebooted itself, it said WARNING DO NOT SHUT OFF POWER - needless to say i didn't argue with it!
